I'll try to make it as short and sweet as possible, as some of you know I quit my job a few weeks ago or so from the horse job with the crazy lady. Then I asked for advice for updating my resume, which I did. Now I'm looking for a new job.

My mom's friend said she would spread the word around at her work that I was looking for a job, well I waited a while and only up until a few days ago did she call back and say one of them is looking for kitchen help. Well in that time I've been searching for jobs on craigslist, and Cleveland jobs and monster and such. And I'm pretty much set on that I don't want to work with food again, unless it's waitressing a few days a week. I was figuring on a customer service type job with a few nights waitressing to make a little extra, ya know?

I don't want to turn down this kitchen job the lady offered, but I also don't want to work a food job for another year or more of my life :-( I was looking for something better and less, stinky, both literally and figuratively. I've had 3 food jobs, I'm not sure that I want another, but I don't want to come off as a jerk for not taking the job that's offered.

Ugh crap, I wrote a lot and I don't know what to do! I'm torn, but I also want to move on to better jobs :-/

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

ps. please don't yell at me! My bills are still paid and I'm actively searching, just torn now.

Id take it until something else comes up. Even if its only part time so you can still search for what you want.

Well, if you're not hungry enough to need it, keep looking.

I know it doesn't feel real good to take a job you don't intend to keep, but if this search starts turning into six months.... You might wish you had it.

I agree with Vick. With the way things are going right now, I would take a job, just so you have some money coming in and still search for the PERFECT job that you want. That way you can take your time, but not stress out with all the other stuff.

I just hate that I'd be job hopping, I don't want to get the food job and then be like oh yeah, by the way, I found a better job, bye. I try to stay at a job for at least 6 months, and I may not stay there that long.

Well if you think you will be able to find the job you want before you have to start worrying about money, bills, food, etc. then I would wait. Just go into it knowing it might take a while.

I get the job hopping thing, and normally I would agree.. but jobs are getting hard to come by.

If they don't have to invest a lot in training you, I really wouldn't worry too much about that. They're used to high turnover, they're not expecting you to be interested in the retirement plan.
