Another Gaited Family Adventure Ride

Yesterday after we had some last minute delays we finally made it out to the stable for our planned ride to another section of Redrock National Park (at the Cowboy trails Entrance)

I was at this area one other time with the BO and the owner of the Cowboy trails and she showed me some of the trails in that area. It was so beautiful that I wanted to share this with my family.

When we arrived at the park area there was this girl who gave us some instruction of the trails we might want to do LOL but its easier said than done LOL.

We started out doing this trail in reverse from what the BO had taken me but how hard could it be??? Umm, watch video LOL there is a small section that we come across that was marked for horses and ended up NOT being a horse trail. When we reached the other side of this trail, I discovered that we made a booboo LOL but boy was it PRETTY!!!

After we finished the one side we wanted to explore more trails of that area and ventured onto the north side of the Cowboy trails camp area. What a pretty area to ride and so different with the "sandy soil" and different plants.

Lovely video. I am glad that you can ridee that I couldn't of done that because I am petrified of heights. If I can see over the edge then I get off of my horse and walk it.

This isn't the worse trail we've been on as for closeness to the edge or height. Neither myself nor my husband (and my daughter) are a scared of heights. If there was a fear yes, I would suggest getting off and walking through. Horses can sense the fear and I wouldn't want my horse to freak out on these elevations.
But I do have to say that my horse and I have fell down the mountain side once and it scared the PEE out of me. We only fell about 5+ feet but when I couldn't get out of my saddle made me rethink some of my saddlebags arrangements.

That would of been scary. I haven't fallen down a hill yet but I hope you never do again. I need to go on a trail ride again. I miss it a lot.

Its amazing how big the park is and how many areas that is so different. I like exploring but have to say one thing. Since this is a national park, not much off tracking available.
When's the next ride? I want to go.

I'm getting a small group of people together to go on the "dead horse loop" Another pretty ride.

What a pretty place to ride. I'm kind of scared to watch the video, but the photos are very nice. Especially the one from high up looking down into the valley with the big red rock formation. Beautiful. It looks like it smells wonderful too.

Thanks, we sure did. It's always nice when we can get the whole family out and about.
In no time you will be enjoying those trails soon. don't forget to bring the camera so we can enjoy them:)

Thanks Tiz:) In another week or two the desert blooms will be in full blossum and what a sweet smell it is. There is even some sage and mint smells.
This is in my opinion the most beautiful time of the year anywhere. I LOVE spring time.
