I finally got some updated pics taken.. I know he is underweight but we'll get him there eventaully. Found out that he hates the Farrier.. He's gonna have to be sedated to have those overgrown hooves done next week. Ugh.... Anyway he is a real love. I am just dying to sit on him.. Maybe this weekend. Tell me what you think.. I am tring to upload them but I think they may be too big

Koda didn't like the farrier when I first got him but the old man we used worked him through that. He was real slow and gentle with him, stopped occasionally and gave him some scratches and loves. Wish he wasn't to sick to work anymore or I'd still be using him!

I was thinkng he will be golden too.. He has a beautiful mane if I can ever get a comb through it.. I may have to cut it off and let it regrow it is very knotted. Someone must have taken care of him at some point cause it was cut like that.

You know what I use to get through tough mane? Show Sheen. Alot of people dont like it, but I tell ya, with Mysts mane n tail being so thick, not just how much she has, but each strand is thick, I spray it on heavily, get a wide mane n tail brush and start working from the bottom and it stays so slick for a LONG time. I dont use it on her body, just her mane n tail a couple times a yr. From there I just use Cowboy Majic conditioner a couple times a yr.
I have to use alot though cause her mane n tail just soak it in. The good thing is, I dont have to do hers often cause it stays so smooth.

I was going to say Show Sheen, Vicky beat me to it. My Sarge has such a thick mane it's on both sides of his neck. It gets knotted so easily. Rompy's just gets knotted, it's long & thick and so hard to get combed out. I take show sheen and soak both of them and let it sit for awhile and the knots will come out with a little work. Delta's mane is long and hers twists around itself like dredlocks [sp], I do the same thing with the Show Sheen on her. I would try it before cutting his mane off, it's so pretty. He is a cutie. I think he already looks better, I'm sure he probably hasn't gained any weight but he looks different, maybe because he's happier. Hugs to him.

He is so adorable! Love the pics :) Yeah I use show sheen as well. I LOVE it! I only put in their tails but if his mane is really bad it works well. Cowboy magic is great too but more expensive.

Oh wow he's beautiful, I adore him!!!! He looks so kind. I love the name you've chosen as well. I'm sure in time he'll come around with the farrier. God only knows what he's been through in his past. Show sheen and Cowboy Magic...I agree with the others!

what a big pretty guy. I'm sure once he gets some groceries on him he's going to be a real looker.

Good luck with the farrier issues. Hopefully you will work him through this so he will be okay with the farrier in the future.

Some TLC and I think you have a GORGEOUS gently Giant on your hands. Alot of potential, and the farrier problems will come with time. =]

I love the pictures. I actually visited the Camelot Auction this past Wednesday....I came this close to buying Deb a really nice paint pony. He went for way more than my budget and Shadow won't be leaving for another month, so I made the rational decision and let him go. I love the sweet face on your big guy. Can't wait to see pictures of you on him.

Aww, love the new pics! Too big? No such thing! :p

Good luck with the farrier. As others have said, hopefully you can work him through it eventually and he'll be good to go. :)

show sheen works great for getting threw knotted manes and tails. i use it on hanz every couple weeks to keep it from getting knotted up. I love it and the only thing i will use for knots.
