Ok for those of you who belong to AQHA if you could go on the website with your AQHA ID# and your pin (same one you use to look up records) and vote for the MD Barn Silver Spur award that would be great. The horse Mona's Little Guy is the one I would like you to vote for.
Here is why I am asking: Moses belongs to a very dear and special friend of mine. Carolyn purchased Moses at an auction and he was considered a throw away. She spent time and money training and working with him to help him get over his issues. She did all of this whil battling MS, and having a very bad car accident which accelerated her MS symptoms even more. A few years ago when I was announcing at a HUGE show in which Carolyn helped to put on I watched her run. After her first barrel I shut the mike off because I was sooooo afraid she was going to fall off. I have watched her ride for years and I knew her legs and arms had just locked up on her. Moses turned a great first barrel-differently than he ever had-but great. Heading to her second barrel she did switched hands with her reins. So I could tell she was starting to be ok. But again Moses did fantastic by the third barrel she was doing better but not able to kick much going home. When Carolyn got to the booth a few minutes later I asked her how she was doing. When she looked at me she knew why I was asking as I could tell what happened. We both had our eyes water up and I told her then that he really took care of her and is worth his weight in gold. Carolyn has since retired Moses and moved on to another horse, who is good, but not Moses. He is truly a one in a million horse and proof that two with issues can make one heck of a whole team.
Thanks for your time.
