Which one is better of the two? They're both ariats, but not sure what to go with. And this is all I can afford right now so either these or something cheaper. :)

Lace:

Zip up:

And now of these which is better? And I need the Adult med. tall because I have really long legs... :) The second one is a little expensive but it was the next one with med. long.... :D

And these gloves, cheaper is better for now so I'm trying to look at the cheaper ones. :)

I have an off named brand of the first ones, the lace ups. I really like those.
Never used chaps before, but I like the looks of the ones in the first link.

With the paddock boots go with the lace ups, I've owned both and had problems with the zipper breaking before the boots were worn out and the boots were a little tight in one spot when zipped up. With the lace ups you get a better fit and don't have to worry about a busted zipper.

As for the chaps, I have those ariat chaps and love them. The mesh panel is great, keeps your leg from getting all sweaty. They are very durable too.

Well, do you mind lacing up before every ride? I have Ariat Performer III Paddock Boots, lace up in back so they're easy to get on, but laced in the front so they have the appearance of the laced paddock boots. It's really a personal choice. =) I have Ariat half chaps, too and <3 them. Can't go wrong with Ariat.

Hehe I think I'm going to go with the lace up so that way I don't have to worry about the zipper breaking although it probably is a really tough zipper I just want to be sure. :D

But I'm still not to sure which half chaps I'm going to get... Or the gloves... :)

I have ariat zip paddock boots... the zippers broke 100 times. I finally just go them replaced. I don't know if they've change their zipper quality in the last few years, but mine were terrible. Not so much that they broke, but that they always slid back down. And then they started breaking!

As far as half chaps... those two brands fit very differently. If you have a local tack shop I really recomend you go try them on. I never could find a half chap I liked better than my cheapos with the 4 velcro tabs. I found that the elastic in most of them were too streachy, and caused them to move too much.

Gloves... you can't really go wrong with SSG. I have a pair of both of those gloves. If you really have an issue with you hands being cold while riding... go with the fleece lined. If not get the others and you can use them year round!

I have Ariats boots that lace up. Love them. I like the first pair of gloves. Sorry, I do not use chaps so I can't help with them.

These are the ones I have... I love them! They're so easy to get on, and very adjustable! I can wear them over my western roper pull on boots or over english paddock boots. I can wear them over jeans or over breeches. The velcro offers a great amount of adjustability and unlike the elastic pannel ones they're always snug. That gives you a much better grip in the saddle.
I've been riding in the same pair of these half chaps since I was in 9th or 10th grade... I'm now 24! They show no wear or tear, just some dirt! The velcro still holds as good as the day I got them!

No they're not the 'trendy' 'expensive' 'gotta have brand'... but they work great and have stood the test of time! I've never understood this whole Zipper obsession in everything... it's just something that can break!

Oh ya they last a long time. I have a pair from 20 years ago....still going......Hubby thought I needed a new pair so went and bought theses, black ones....sigh it's the thought that counts....
Lace up boots work way better for sure.....I just have a spare set of laces as I seem to go through them.

color.... well ask yourself a few questions!
-do you plan to show? Some people will wear half chaps and boots to small local shows, if you plan on doing this then black and black would be what you want.
if not showing and only for schooling...
-will you wear these boots anywhere else other than the barn? if so, think about most of your wardrobe... do most of your clothes go with black boots or brown boots?
