A while back - so long I can't remember where I found it - I came across a recipe for making 3D (life like) cookies or cakes that really looked like little tea cups sitting on saucers. They were edible.
I am thinking of doing a tea party for my daughter's bday and now can't seem to find them anywhere? I think they have a particular name - but I'm drawing a blank - can anyone help me?

You will most likely need a form to press the dough in to, to make them hold the shape. If you have a form, I can give you a recipe for cookies like that. I actually have two difefrent recipes that are supposed to be pressed in to a form before they are baked. I guess you could use muffin tray, but the shape would not be perfect. It would be nicer if the bottom was rounded.
Let me know if you want my recipes.

Thanks Petra - please message them to me. I can see what I can do about finding a form.
After searching online forever last night the only ones I found were the marshmallow teacup ones, which are cute- but I don't know where I would find the supplies because I have never heard of some of them.

Lol those are actually prttty cute.
I'm going to look for the recipes I have. Will PM them as soon as I'll find them. Thinking about it, the muffin tray should work just fine. You will have to figure out how to put handles on them though.
See the ones in the back with a walnut on top?

Those are pressed in to a form, baked, filled with walnut cream filling and topped with chocolate. The forms I got have a good shape, but are too small to be a tea cup. Muffin form should work though.
I think you could fill them with instant pudding instead of the walnut cream, or you could even fill them with jello. But you'd have to make sure you freeze the cups well, so the filling doesn't soak in and make them soggy. I have never tried that, so you may want to test it on just one first. I believe it would work though.

Thanks for those links SWMS - the 2nd one is an adorable idea but it would get expensive to make a lot of them for all the kids.
Lots to think about!

This one seemed like one you could pull off without any special tools...

You're pretty talented and creative. This one looks simple, but it's the teapot not the teacups.

you could just use a cupcake mold and use fondont on it to make them look like cups then use frosting for the tea or even use color frosting.
if you want me too i can make up a batch to show you what i mean. I havent made them in forever but i can try. and for the sausers just use plastic ones .. with lots of color or glass ones..
