He has been trying soo hard for me!! :D I was soo happy with the way he behaved at the clinic I rode him in for 2 days on the weekend. It really helped us. We're now doing things I didn't know he could do! He's getting his turns down well and the clinic guy, Hue Atfield (sp?) told me that he thinks I have a great horse and I again got ask who trained him... he was surprised when I said "me" :) lol. I was also asked if I was willing to sell my horse (not by him though).... HAHAHA NO!!!!!!! But that's a different story!

So anyways. Here's a Quick video of one of several new things Tanner has learned :). Flying lead change :D. I got him to do about 15 of them last night.... and some weren't using a ground pole!!!!!! :D:D He behaved so well... he's getting it down like a natural - and so quickly too. He was the only horse that did a flying change at the clinic too, and I had only ever done simple ones! We were doing figure 8's and we did about 5 in a row... but my camera kept freezing for some reason and I tried like 5 times to get it on video. So this is one that did record... and of course it was a poopy one. But he still did it! :)

So enjoy! Skip to a minute in if you don't want to hear me blab or watch me get on.... someone was getting sick of me getting on and off all the time. You can critique if you want but please be nice. I do have a broken arm and a fractured hip so I was hurting quite a bit... especially when I got off haha. Oh and I look and sound like an idiot, I know! :D hehe

PS, enjoy that slow jog hahaha. :innocent:

Looks like a nice arena!
Well done on getting the changes :) I hope I start them soon.

How can you ride with those injuries? Don't they like...hurt like a...um...thing (for want of a nicer word ;))

Thanks LOL.

Yeah, little booger wouldn't stand still.... we fixed that later on that last night lol.
The arenas nice! They're loading up the hay that was there, today. It's alot bigger as you can see in some other videos lol.

Yes, they hurt like a .... "female dog" sometimes. (I can't think of a better word either). :) lmao. And idk, It's impossible for me to not ride :( haha

Thank you! :)

Gosh. My computer only plays it jerky and slow. :( I totally miss the change.

So, what if you hurt yourself more and really can't ride. Sorry if everyone's been buggin you about it, but I couldn't help myself. I'd be scared to death to ride and re-injure myself.

myhorse - Thank you! And of course you can! :D Lol

shewas - awh darn that sucks! Will it play it right when you click on normal quality? I don't know but I'm pretty confident when I'm riding Tanner now. I know I'm taking a huge chance but it's something I feel I have to take. I mean 3 months of not riding... I can't do that. And I don't think Tanner would enjoy 3 months of ground work very much. It's okay, I'm getting used to it lol.

Kendra - Thank you!! Me too! :D

Caitlin - OMG, I totally remember that!!!!! :D Thanks so much. I know who I'm coming to if I have a problem with him going over jumps! LOL :)

Vick - I guess I should have been more specific. I doesn't hurt my hip to ride, but it does hurt my arm sometimes. The worst pain I have is from my hip when I'm getting off... getting on isn't too bad though, it's wierd. Thank you!

Great job with the flying lead change! Please hop over here to Michigan and teach it to Buster. :) I'm impressed. You also did a really good job getting him to stand while you mounted.

I'm not sure about riding yet, but that's none of my business, I guess. :)

It was great hearing your voice. It's funny, many of us have known each other for two years or longer now, but we don't hear each other's voices often. Well, at least those of us who communicate only through the forum don't.

Anyway, back to Tanner. You should be very proud of your work with him. You've done a great job training him and yourself. I remember your very first posts (you and I joined the old forum at about the same time) and I think you were pretty much a new to horses then with that other horse you were leasing. I can't recall his name. So, great job!

Great video! I can't believe you are able to ride already--but I definitely don't blame you for wanting to! He is such a gorgeous boy--He doesn't even need the "fake tail"! I hope to be able to get CHIC to do a nice slow jog like that! Be careful while healing up--and keep up the good work!

JackieB - lol, thank you!! :D I thought my voice sounded horrible! LOL. I was like omg, do I really talk like that? eww . hahaha. Thank you very much!!! It's hard to believe I've had him for 10 months! How long ago did we join the forum? :O has it been that long? OMG lol. I think I was leasing Moe at the time. :D... I don't think I joined while I was leasing Tara or Razz. I love that horse soooo much. Thanks again for all the wonderful comments!

prissy - Thank you! Awh don't be jealous. It took a TON of frusterating rides to get here. You just cant get made, you have to take your time and be understanding. Heck - 10 months I couldn't even get ON Tanner and he'd try and bolt or buck. That wasn't fun at all... but I didn't blame him! He's coming along great - just as I'm sure you and your horses will, too. :)

Me'N"Chic - Thank you so much! :D lol. Oh my gosh I know lol... I just cut it a little shorter than normal to get rid of the dead ends before next years show season.... guarenteed I'll have to cut it every month because it'll be too long lol. It took him a long time to get that jog haha. Before his gaits were, NO whoa, bolt, buck & extended trot. HAHAHA. I can get him to lower that head right down for western, too lol.
Thanks so much!! :)

He's doing so great Ashley, I know what you mean - I love the feeling when someone compliments you on how well trained your horse looks and you can say - I did it myself :D Something I love about Billy & I's past :)

Great job! I'm eventually wanting to get Panda to do lead changes. Right now I'm just going one step at a time on her training and trying not to put to much on her. lol

Tanner is adorable!!!

I'm sure you've said but I don't remember why, so if you don't mind me asking where did your injuries come from?
