Please tell me what you think of this prospect. I made an offer on this horse last year. They said my offer was too low. I found him online again for $300 less than my offer last year. :) I offered them another $200 off the asking price and they accepted. I have to let them know for sure yes or no if I'll take him BY TOMORROW 4-16 or he goes to auction on Monday. So they accepted my offer for $500 LESS than my offer last year! :D His breeding- topside is Investment Creditor and his dam is a ranchbred Driftwood mare.
This pic is him as a two year old. They told me he's about the same height (14.3) and he's alot stockier now. They said he's due for a trim, but in order to accept my asking price, they won't trim him. No biggie.

I'm really really bad with conformation. What are your thoughts? He's not expensive, so minimal risk financially. I plan to start him this summer under saddle and do some patterning on him. I won't add the speed until next summer and won't game him until he's 5. Thoughts??

I have an investment horse too. She's a nice little mare, so my vote is to get him. Good company I think. Good luck either way. :)

I'm not an expert but I've learned a lot over the last few years. I like him. I think he looks well balanced and put together. Hopefully someone will give you a more detailed analysis.
He has a good hip, and a strong shoulders, I would go for it.

My palo is bred Driftwood on the dams side, he looks pretty cute! I cant pick him apart at 2, but I think theres potential there.

Lol. Still thinking. I'm supposed to call him tonight. Maybe I'll run up there with hubby and check him out. :) Thanks for all the opinions! It helps having more sets of eyes.

Thanks! That is a pic I took last summer of him. They say he's really bulked up since then. I could take a chance going to the auction to bid on him on Monday, or I could just buy him outright. I wanted to head up to look at him tonight. Hubby isn't so excited to go see him. ;)

Lol. Well, I just called the seller and agreed via phone. He's an honest person and I trust him. If he says the horse is the same as last year, just thicker, I believe him. I've known him for years and he has a good repuation in the area. I'm mailing a check for half down, and picking the gelding up in 2 weeks with the other half. He's emailing me new pics sometime this weekend. I messed with this horse a bit last summer when I was first interested in him. He's pretty mellow. I wish we could have gone up to look at him tonight. They're about an hour away from us. I already have a name for him. :) His registered name is "Driftin On Credit" so I'm going to call him Drifter. It has always been one of my favs. I wish I had a new pic or two to post!! :(
