You guys look so cute together! Love your boots! Is he considered a Colonial Spanish strain? He's built very similar to my Rompy. I have to find out, I don't remember seeing them on the HOA list but he is built like Romp. The CS horses are so gentle and learn really really fast, I have a horse who is smarter than me, he's so smart it's scary. Picks up things very fast, my other little buckaroo here is pretty remedial but he's cute.

Thanks all :)
oursarge thanks I just got those boots from Tractor Supply. :) Boone sounds like your CS horse he is easy to work with. I am not sure if they go back to CS horses or not. Here are a couple interesting links about them http://www.rmhorse.com/history.html & http://www.nwmountainhorses.com/gpage.html My boy goes back to Tobe on his Sire's side.
Caddo yeah he is grey like his Dam. He is my first grey horse. I am excited to watch him change over the years.
I have been offered Boone's Dam. She is still at the place I got Boone from. I will be getting more info on her come Monday evening. I just might get her just to get her out of there. If hubby will let me and the guy isn't asking a arm and leg for her. If I do get her then I will either have to resale her or Brave the QH I got last Spring. Being I only have room to keep 4 horses comfortably not 5 but could keep 5 for a while.

My man just came from Tractor Supply! If I knew he was going I would have told him I need cute boots.
I might have asked you about the CS Connection before, I have no mind. I know if I searched there was an article on CS Horses in Trail Rider Magazine about 2 yrs ago, I kept the issue but am not sure where I put it. They had all the strains listed. I know the RM horses were talked about but can't remember if it was in the CS article or another. He is so precious. Good luck getting his mother out of there.

Thanks oursarge. No you never asked me before. :) If you find the magazine let me know what you find out.
Tractor Supply had all kinds of designs on the boots from poke a dots to horses and garden tools. I had to have a pair. I love slip on boots for running outside and mucking stalls. I have a pair of Muck boots I love to but they are to hot for summer.

I have muck boots too but they are hot when it's hot out. They are cute boots! I have a boot addiction!!! I used to have red boots I wore in the summer but they got worn out then I never got another pair, I will have to!
If I ever find that magazine I'll let you know. It would probably be easier to ask the girl I got Rompy from, she's an expert in all things CS. She's away now but if I remember I'll ask her. I know there is one strain that has Mountain Horse in it's name but it might be Northern Mountain Horse, I'm not sure, the one she had was bigger than the other CS horses, a real nice horse. She found a good home for her.

Thanks Remali and Ransoms mom :)
I can't wait till I get to turn him out with my other horses. Which will be here soon. That way he will get out all day and work on getting more muscle. Right now he gets out 2 -4 hours a day alone. I am going to let him out with one horse at a time till he meets them all before he goes out with the whole group. Jordan the herd boss will be the last one he gets turned out with. Although Brave seems to be the meanest to him in the barn. Brave is the bottom of my herd. Introducing a youngster to the herd makes me nervous.

you always need to watch out for the lowest in ranking, imo. They want to move up, so anyone new introduced is prime target for coming in low and STAYING low so long as they bully them enough!
he is a super cutie! LOVE his face. Can't wait to see him more filled out and sassy :)

I was able to ask Stephanie about the CS thing. Here is her answer:
They do have some similarities, but are not any type of CS horse. There is indeed Spanish blood in there, very diluted, but a very different horse in many ways. That is nice your friend has given him a good home.
So they aren't CS horses but have Spanish Blood so maybe that is why there are so many things in common with Rompy. No matter he's just so cute. I hope you can get his mother out. They are beautiful horses and deserve a better life than what it seemed they had at that other place. Hugs to him and hope the other horses are nice to him.

Thanks Vicklynn. I sure will keep you all updated. I like talking about him. lol ! I think sometimes I drive hubby crazy talking about Boone. :)
Thanks Red. I agree the lowest in the herd needs watched close. I am going to take the introductions slow and one on one.
Thanks oursarge.
