View Full Version : Saddle size?
How do I know what size english saddle will fit me?
I ride in a 15-16" western saddle, so what size english would fit my butt?:p
I always heard you should add two extra inches on an english saddle, is that true? Thanks!

I'm gonna agree with Mustanglover and say you should be good with a 17-18...most likely a 17.

I'm going to say 17.5-18". A 17" is a small adult saddle. My 5'2" wears a juniors 5 (petite) daughter rides in a 17" CC saddle just fine ;). Many English riders have saddles that are actually too small. It's better to err on the large side.
Also keep in mind that different types of saddles will fit differently. A deeper seat AP or Dressage saddle will fit smaller than a flatter seat CC saddle. A saddle with a cutback pommel will fit smaller than one with a full pommel.
Go with a 17.5". :) That's what me and everyone else at my barn has.

I ride a 16 inch western and was fitted for a 17.5 endurance. I hear they are 2 inch difference in size.
