Skunks, have you ever noticed....

We seem to have a large number of suicidal skunks in our area as you see them all up and down the road. Funny thing about this is that it always seems that you can smell them worse going in one direction than you can the other. :eek: Is it just me and my husband or have any of you ever noticed such phenomenon?

Part of the problem with skunks is that they only see about 3 feet in front of them- they mostly rely on hearing and smell. Right now, they should be looking for their winter dens, which might account for a lot more of them being on the move than you would usually see.

;) Me too but soooooometimes we're drivin along and see one, get all prepared to hold my breath then, thankfully, no smell. HOWEVER! on the way is a different story. We'll be like all whatever he's all stunk out then WHAM! it hits ya full force leaving you writhing in sensory agony unwilling to take a breath to hold at that point. Can't figure out what it is. Must be some sorta skunk pay back..... :p

LOL, WB! Sometimes, just sometimes, I get a whiff of skunk and I swear it smells like coffee beans.

I do have a tendency to buy the 8 o'clock coffee. Not bad but not premium. Hubby brings his own roast from the restaurant once in a while. That is a real treat.

My husband worked for this guy that had a family of skunks move in under his house. I don't know what all he tried to get rid of them. But the smell permeated the whole house. My husband said even his cloths smelled. Can you imagine? :o
