WAHOO!!! FINALLY-- a trail ride!!!

Hi, everybody! I've been a VERY bad forumer, and haven't posted or updated for WAY too long. Been staying busy with work on the weekends, and life during the week!

Anyway, after what seemed the LONGEST winter ever, Jack and I finally got out for a REAL trail ride on Friday! :D :D

Here are a few pics and vids from our afternoon. My gosh, it was wonderful to get to reconnect with my guy from somewhere BESIDES the ground! :cowboy: Jack did terrific.. not a moment's trouble with anything, which I was a bit nervous about. But somehow he always shows me, I just simply don't have much to worry about when it comes to Jack and trails. :D

A short ride through the woods and you come to this clearing. Straight ahead through the trees to two different trails, or one other short loop cuts off to the right of where we're standing:

Crossing the creek. This is the first time he's EVER NOT stopped to play silly in the water.. and he called out. I figured it was just because we were downwind of Buck's Hollow, but as it turns out Miss Mira was on the hill in the pasture calling out to US the whole time.. LOL! Silly ponies.

And LOL @ my throatlatch always jacking up on me, gah.. pleather!

So we rode for about an hour total.. 15 minutes in the arena, where I could barely get Jack to keep up a walk, much less a trot. :rolleyes:.. and then look at him on the trail, all excited to go go go. Like I always say, a trail horse I asked for, a trail horse I got!

Anyway. After the ride.. look, no dry spots! (if anyone remembers my issue from last summer):

Best part: I had to go to work after this so I wasn't able to meet my farrier (first time for me).. but he said he just took Jack in the shade, and Jack ground tied for the whole thing- front shoes and all. :) I said he was probably worn out from all the "work" after this winter.. lol!

What a pretty horse you have! I love those steady eddies. Dena shocks me all the time. I get to ride her maybe once in a blue moon.. and I always expect the worst. And it never happens. :)

I like the video. He got a little excited coming out of the pool of water lol. Or it seemed that way.

Thanks palo, badlands.. yep, lol, he couldn't decide whether he wanted to frolick in the water or leave it alone, so he frolicked out of it, hehe. He was definitely feelin' his oats. :) He is so much fun in the woods, and he and I just fuss at each other like an old married couple.. it's a habit I think, and it started the day I went to meet him to see if I wanted to buy him- LOL. ;)
