Have you gone to look at her yet? I know the owner of that horse, we go riding together sometimes, her barn is just down the road from mine. That filly is a pmu baby, a draft cross. She is a beautiful filly, I've always loved that bald face of hers. Coleen is great with her horses, just didn't have enough time to work with all of them. The filly would be a project but I can tell you that she's been well taken care of so far.

As much as I want to fight you for her, the hubby put his foot down and said no. But think first girl, you also have a foal due to drop soon, do you really want 4 horses you can't do much with right now? You can ride your gelding...(well lite pinking around), and with military and getting ready to PCS possibly (soon), do you really want to move a draft moma, a foal, a gelding, AND another larger filly.....? Believe me I am heart broken that hubby said no, but his reasons are along the same lines I am asking you about. Be rational and think before you go get her.

(Hope this did not sound harsh, (((hugs))) see you at work).

If you got the money, time & experience then I say go for it. It seems to be a great oppertunity.

Another mouth to feed is not cheap. And the fact that you really do not have enough room if your gelding is going to have to share a stall.......

Sorry but for those two reasons that would make it a thanks but no thanks for me.

There is an old adage: "There is no such thing as a free horse."

I for one could not pass it up. You need to do what you feel is right and what you can handle. Just don't throw yourself over the edge because she is free. Take the time and figure out all the costs first.
