Tubbs had procedures on both front feet yesterday. The vet did a nerve block on both front feet. The farrier drilled a line across the top of both hooves about 1/4 inch deep (maybe less). He then put heart-bar shoes on him. He was pretty sore last night. My jaw is aching this morning because I was grinding my teeth all night worrying about him.:( This morning, he was alot better and just now, he was actually pacing in his stall. He's on stall rest for the rest of the week and 4 grams bute daily.

Everyone--please watch the weight of your horses. The spring grass got him. We're still not out of the woods yet but he is at least progressing forward. It is heartbreaking seeing him in pain. I'd hate for anyone else to go through this.

I do hope he's on the mend. Would love to see pictures of what they did. Is it open or wrapped?

I'm not sure what the procedure does but I'm sure he is in great hands. Maybe one of the farriers can explain it.
I know this is upsetting to you but he hasn't given up, neither have the vets or your farrier. You're doing more than most would. Stay strong & take it one day at a time.
