I was out with Myst this afternoon, everything was fine.
Gave her a good brush down.

Went out to feed and she has some minor, very minor swelling at the front, top of her eye lid, it's almost not even noticeable, but the white, not all of it, has, what I think, is blood in her eye. I opened her eye and see white, so its not covered all of it. I waved my hand on that side of her face, she blinks, so she sees. No drainage or anything, just discoloration and the minor swelling. Pupil is of normal size.

The only thing I can think of is, she rubs her neck on the trees and she may of hit her eye bone right there.
This happened(what ever it was) in her living area as she has not been on pasture due to the soft ground.
I will check on her again tonight. Bob is going to feed for me in the morning and will call if there is a change.

Anyone ever seen any thing like that before?

No idea, but could you use an ice pack like you would with a human that had head swelling?? Just a thought...

LOL. I have the coolest horse!!

So, I got my shower, grabbed my ice pack and a flash light and headed out. She was finishing dinner, but wanted to know if the flashlight was edible or some thing to mess with..LOL. I really liked doing this in the dark because I could see the dark in her eyes better. Very good, looked a better than before, but I still iced it. She didnt even protest, just stood there lightly bobbing her head for a sec, then held it still.
I think it was just a minor bump that I was probably over worried about. I hate seeing things in horses that I have never delt with.
I think she is fine! Its dark, but it looks like the swelling is gone.
I had the flash light from the front, looking at both eye bones and they look even now.

Glad she stood great for your ice pack and that it is already looking better.

she probably just rubbed in on something. ben has a window in his stall, and he has stuck his head out the window and rubbed on the latch and had swelling on his eye because of it..it should go away in a few days

That is good that it is going down. I agree she probably just rubbed it on something that poked her.

When we got Oreo, he had bumped his eye on the trailer ride here. His eyelid was swollen for a couple of days. It went away on it's own and he's fine. Happy to hear she's doing better. She's a cutie!
