question about lame horse

I rode Gaston today and he felt VERY different in his walk and his trot. Once I got off of him he kicked twice and stomped a couple of times on his leg that has had a previous injury. I tried to watch him walk as much as I could but he didn't seem like he was favoring it. Does it sound like he's lame? I feel kind of weird saying something to my trainer because I feel like she would have picked up on it more than I would.

It does sound like he is having some kind of an issue. You should bring it up with your trainer and have her check it out, don't feel weird about it!

If it got progressively worse, probably a muscle. My guess is a cramp. Horses get 'em too.
