The name of thread refers to Obama telling his little girls that they're getting a new puppy when they move to the White House.

Who's to say that was Barney? The article said that the guy asked for permission, but in the video that April Ryan ( I think it was) took, he didn't ask.

Naw - It happened. I saw it on TV too. I don't think it's the first time he's bitten someone...

Barney is not a real good dog.... He's a Scottie. :D

I saw it too. And if the guy knew ANYTHING about dogs he'd've seen it coming and backed off before it happened. Barney's whole posture was screaming "LEAVE ME ALONE!!"

Well, to me it just seemed the guy was awful happy and *playing* so to speak that he got bit by him.

Barney was definately screaming leave me along. And that idiot needs to know you don't go point blank up to a strange dog, no matter if it's the president's, or pet store's. You approach with caution. It'd scare me if he came point blank up to my face like he did Barney's. It served him right.

I'm just wondering why they didn't tell the reporter that "he was snapping at everyone today" BEFORE he stuck his hand in Barney's face?? Plus the guy is a dummy for thinking that dog wanted anything to do with him. It's people like that who raise the dog bite statistics.

It can't be easy being a White House dog, feel a little sorry for the critter myself.

Please.....:nono:

I agree with Arrow on feeling sorry for him. I wouldn't want to be a dog in that situation period. Obama waiting till he gets in the White house to get one is a little crazy I think. Imagine how that dog( or any potential White house dog) is going to be, in the hustle and bustle of things.
