I spend all day yesterday down in Cannon Falls. I spent the morning and afternoon helping my parents out, then went over to see Rashad in the evening. Faith and I decided to go for a ride. After we had saddled up my mom brought my son out and he didn't have any pants on. I was like, "Where's Ethan's pants??" and they had gotten wet and she forgot to bring them with. :( Just another joy of letting my parents watch my child. :o

So... Faith and I threw the buddy seat on behind my saddle and off we went. Ethan didn't care at all that he was practically nude and had a grand old time. The buddy seat put him pretty far back on Rashad's rump, but Ethan's only about 35 lbs, so I figured that was okay. Ethan didn't care at all that he was bobbing up and down with every step. :p Rashad was amazing too. I've never seen him so calm and careful. Even with the new sensation of the buddy seat and all the new straps he didn't miss a beat. Not even when he saw the cows, that normally freak him out, he just starred and then continued like normal.

Have I told you guys lately that I LOVE MY HORSE!!! There is no other horse out there that he as wonderful and trustworthy as Rashad is. :)

Here he is...

and then after we were done I let Faith's youngest girl, Shelby, have a go on Rashad.

When we were done riding we let Rashad loose and he got to mow up the grass around the barnyard. LOL. He liked that. :)

Your photos are beautiful. Rashad is worth his weight in gold. He will be a hard horse to have to replace one day. You all are doing a beautiful job with family and horses... (well I guess they are family too! :) ).

Thanks, Bess. Rashad is definitely family. I've had him for 13 years now and I've only been married for 6. My husband knows Rashad is a family member and he will always be part of my life. :) Rashad is irreplaceable. When he passes I will be at a complete loss. I know God will sustain me, but it was be a hard time for me.

I think it'd interesting how attentive he is. You can see in each picture that ear is concentrated on his young charge. He's keeping track of them. :)

I know. I didn't know we were taking him. It crossed my mind too, but I didn't have his along. I could have borrowed, but Faith's are all for bigger kids. IMO a badly fitting helmet is more dangerous, then non at all. Plus, he wouldn't have been up there if there was even the shadow of a doubt that Rashad would cause him harm. If he had fallen and gotten injured, then it would have been purely the fall that caused it. Minus the helmet, Ethan was as safe as was humanly possible when a horse and toddler are mixed. :)

That is a priceless horse. But, to be able to live life in your Underroos, and not meet with objections... (sigh).
