OK today was really cold...below freezing. I went for a ride with my new endurance saddle (love it) anyway but my butt was sooo cold. I've seen some people with seat savers that are gel and some that are fleece/wool. I was thinking the fleece/wool kind would be really nice for the winter. Does anyone have one? What do you think of them? Fleece vs Wool? Also if I get one I need to get one for an endurance saddle....does anyone know where I can get one? Sorry for all the questions.

Here is one: You can get them almost anywhere. http://www.smartpakequine.com/ProductClass.aspx?productclassid=2651&cmPreserveSource=true&cmPreserveCategory=true
They do help to keep your tush toasty lol, and they are very comfy. I have ridden many conditioning rides in a gel one and it helped alot.
Is your saddle and english style or western?

I have a sheepskin one that I don't use. It's for a western-seat saddle (dunno if you ride english or not) and I don't have a western saddle anymore. Its great for keeping your tush warm over the winter (but still cool over the summer) and is really comfy.
I think I paid about $49 for it, and its made by Equine Comfort Products.
If you want it I'll sell it to you ($25 + shipping?) its in good condition and I can get you pics.

I think it's a western style. Here's a picture of it. Would an english one fit it?

BalooEyes...I would like to see picture of it. What color is it? Do you think it would fit my saddle? I posted a picture of it.

I'd say you would need a western seat cover. That is a lot like my old endurance saddle I bought the saver for and it fit.
BTW, that looks like a really comfy saddle!!

Ahh, we're posting at the same time. Yeah, I think it would fit. What size is the seat? it fit mine (a 16" seat) nicely. Its black, I can get you a pic tomorrow if you like. I only used it for one winter. It attaches by strings, so you can tie it on however you like, you don't need a horn to attach it.

Mine is a 15 inch. So you used it for an endurance saddle? That might work then. Today was my first ride in my saddle and it was very comfortable. Look forward to seeing pictures.

yeah, this is it on the saddle I used it on. yours would probably work better though, since you have fenders, the leathers on mine didn't work so well. lol.
I can get you better pictures of it tomorrow just on its own.

Mine, on an Abetta endurance saddle.
Probably the same product as the one BalooEyes has. Equine Comfort Products, Merino Sheepskin from Jeffers Equine

I would think that an English style would be more difficult to fit on a Western-style saddle since the attachment is different (the elastic band that fits over the back and then the loops that go over the stirrup safety bar as opposed to an elastic band and string ties for the western.

That looks really nice Balooeyes. I think it would work perfectly. And you just tie it to where ever on the saddle? How much are you wanting for it? And how much would shipping be? My zip is 80106. Kind of tight on money right now. Let me know.

What about $25 + $10 shipping?
If that works, I'll PM you my address if you don't mind sending a check, I have PayPal, but it takes a percent of any money I get.
And yes, I attached it by tying the string to eachother around the saddle. The sides I tied around the fenders, the front to the back under the saddle, and then the elastic part goes around the cantle. there's probably a better way to do it though if you have some hardware and attachment places on your saddle.
