I got a wicked bad sunburn on Sunday, and I have big white lines from my shirt sleeves, shirt neckline, necklace, and riding gloves, with red all over my arms and neck. Does anybody know of anything that will fade it? I have prom on Saturday, and it's gonna look like I'm still wearing the shirt I wore Sunday, since I will still have the outline of it!

The two things that have worked for me (not together though) are vinegar and aloe.

Bummer timing! The burn part will either have healed or will be peeling (depending on how bad it is) on Saturday. Hopefully the former.

Your best bet, IMHO, for the parts that will show in your dress would be to cover the current burn completely and attend a couple tanning-bed sessions for the unburned parts. Even it up a little.

use preparation H to take out a lot of the redness and itching. diaper rash cream will work too. Body makeup or spray tan to help even it all out after the redness has gone. Moisturize a couple of times a day to reduce peeling.

Make sure to keep sunblock on it every time you're outside too. It will help to keep it from getting burned again.

There's a cream called Noxema that I use on sunburn. It might be face wash actually, but it takes the sting right out and helps with the redness. Good luck and have fun at prom! :)

Thanks guys. I'm stuck home today but I'll be out in the sun quite a bit, so I think I'll put on a tank top and put on a strong sunscreen where I'm already burned. Then maybe I can tan a little where the shirt sleeves are, and get rid of the necklace line, and the worst I'll have is the spaghetti strap line.

Unfortunately I have allergies to a lot of things, so I don't dare get a spray tan in fear that I'd break out, plus I'd probably end up orange if not red and itchy.
I was told to put green tea on the sunburn, which did help a lot with the redness on my arms, but my back was still burning yesterday, and the only thing the nurse at school had to offer was aloe, which I am allergic to.

Well now I look really funny!
I put sunscreen on my burn yesterday, and within 30 minutes of being outside, I was covered in huge blisters! Then I only really got sun on one side, so I have the spaghetti strap line on one shoulder, the t-shirt line on the other, then a little line underneath the original sunburn where it's white because mom went down too far with the sunscreen. I also have a triangle of white around my tattoo because I had put some lotion on it which turns out has sunscreen in it...

Haha, well....I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'm going to be a peeling blobby mess tomorrow.

My mom mentioned this, but the smell was so strong I had to wash it off after about 5 minutes because it gave me a really bad headache and sore throat
