I'm selling my round pen now since Sombra is being sold. I have eight 12' economy horse panels from priefert. I don't have a gate, but they still sell them at Fleet Farm, so folks could get one if they wanted. I already have two people interested in them. I just have to price them. I was thinking $55/ea. 2 have broken welds, but that can be fixed. I was gonna ask $50 for those. Is that a reasonable price?

For the price of metal today and depending on where you are. If the good ones still look new, or are in pretty good shape, you can get almost 3/4 of what you would pay for them today, not when you bought them. People here go nutso when those get put on the market for sale. I know, I was the first caller of mulitple sales..lol
So, dont feel bad if you get a good deal on your sale. They are worth every penny.

I agree with Vicklynn. Sounds like a very reasonable price. I would buy them myself if we lived closer. We are looking for a used roundpen. Good Luck

I'm not sure how much specifically I would ask for them, but Vicklynn is right on about metal prices. A few months ago I sold the arena we had in the field because I was moving. It was maybe 5 yrs old and definitely not in new shape (not bent or anything, but used). I researched steel prices and determined that NEW at this point building something similar would have cost me 2-3 times as much as it did cost back then.
So, I ended up selling it for 1/2 of what it was currently worth, which ended up being almost exactly what I originally paid new. A good deal for both of us - I didn't lose money on it and got several years of use and the buyer got a decent arena for 1/2 the current day cost it would have been to put a new one in!
Don't be concerned about its cost compared to what you bought it for. I suggest looking up today's price for exactly the same thing and trying to sell your panels for 1/2 to 3/4 that price. Maybe start high and go lower - people WILL generally come look and make an offer if they are interested, even if the price is a bit higher than they want.

Around here round pen panels are going for $65-$80 each (the 12' variety... just depending on where you get them). I think I got mine for $60 but we had to drive for approximately ever to get them. If I sold it I would sell them for $50 each. :)

Here...we'd pay one flat price for the round pen. So...depending on condition...if present prices for an entire pen setup ran you $1000.00, people here would think $800.00 is a steal!

Well, I paid around $60 per panel. I know they are more like $65 now, though. So, I could ask $400 firm for the whole pen.
