I wasn't sure if I should post this at all or what section to put it in. But if I don't Natisha is going to start fish-slapping me---->:trout: with JackieB backing her up with the stick--->:whack: and then I'll have to run-----> and hide.:help: So I am surrendering---->:whiteflag: and posting the pictures of my new t-post fence caps.:o I need to pick up a few more bags next time I'm at TSC (actually more than a few, I have a lot of fencing and it took 60 some caps just to do to the first pasture!) but I got one and a half pastures done.:) Feels much better already. Safer.:) Thanks, Jeane.xD The ponies thank you too, I told them it was part of their birthday present!:p

Well, that is better. I'd love to put a nice strand or two of hot white tape on it to keep them well away from it altogether, too, but that'll be a project for another day's forum guilt-trip, I guess ;)
For now, what will be funny is if the horses decide it's a game to pull them off and you can come back and say "look! what now!?"

I hate hot wire, I've been shocked wayyyy too many times. Plus then I couldn't climb over the fence! Or reach over to pet the horsies and give them treats! Or (gently) drop the goat kids over the fence! (The goats are not usually with the horses but we sometimes put them in the horse pasture to eat down the weeds and bushes Kota and Beauty don't like).

Don't give them any ideas!:nono: Fortunally mine don't really do stuff like that though. Occasionally Beauty will pick up Kota's rubber feed pan and carry it around in her mouth, and Dakota unties himself when he gets bored at the hitching post, but other than that they don't really mess with stuff.

Ah - well, see... if you didn't climb over the fence, it wouldn't be sagging ;)
If they don't get in the fence as is..., then good... it's also good that it looks like there's enough to eat in there that they don't have to reach over or paw at it.... *that's* when the trouble usually starts, when hot wire makes it safer. I'm glad you've got your caps on... that will at least keep that faction quiet for now :D
I think without hotwire, Cyn would decide to pull the caps off for sport ;) Just sayin...

Awesome!!! So glad you "posted" (Get it?) pictures for us. And I'm especially happy that you have those posts capped off. That's been bothering me quite awhile, but I knew that you didn't have support to get them on the home front. Excellent.
That Natisha is really a wonderful friend.

Lol, well usually I climb over the gate instead actually, I only climb the fence when it's an emergency or I'm really far away from the gate.
The goats are the ones that smashed down the fence mostly. Bad 'ol goats. And Beauty helped a little bit this spring before the grass grew up in their pasture, she puts her neck over and leans on it. And the fence is just old and needs tightened. I'm going to work on that soon. It's a PITA because I have to unclip the fence from each post (and there's 3 or 4 metal clips on every post), pull it up, pull it tight, and then redue the clips. I'm not looking forward to that job, blah.

Lol, I hope they don't try to pull the caps off. I don't *think* they will. Lately they've been spending their day in the run-in shelter because it's hot and the flies are bad, and then in the evening I take them to their play pasture to graze. So with a little luck they'll never even notice the caps!:p

Nobody hates those fence clips more than me. I really can't believe in all these years someone hasn't come up with a better system than those clips

I have those caps, too, and I love them! They do make you feel better about metal posts.
For the record, there was one post that for whatever reason, Mia used to pull the cap off and drop it on the ground. She'd leave every other one alone except that one--I could never figure out what the appeal was for that one. Charlie and Beauty both ignore them, and I don't have hot wire too near them.
Good luck tightening your fence! I don't envy you that job...

Very cool! That looks so much safer Lizzy. :)
You have very well behaved horses. Our Harley would take off every single one of them.
We have similar fence to yours and Trigger used to stomp on it to lower it so he could eat the grass on the other side.
If we didn't put up the electric fence he would have probably knocked the fence down by now.
