So today I enjoyed my day off of work by going and riding my favorite girl, Trouble. I had a 9 hour shift on Friday and Saturday and high school graduation on Sunday. I was happy I finally got to stop at the barn. She was golden besides for one little accident. I was asking her for a collected trot when she out of the blue throws a huge buck and bolts. I fell sideways and my arm rubbed against my jeans and left a huge rug burn. Besides for having a sore tail bone I'm completely fine my first fall in a few years.

At first I was super pissed thinking she just didn't want anything to do with collecting. I jumped back on to have her stare scared out of her life at the newly painted white trot poles resting on the fence rail. I didn't even notice them, and I don't think Trouble noticed them until we had almost passed them at a trot. Especially since we had already passed them at a walk . So I got off, let her sniff them and she was completely fine the rest of the time. She did great with everything else, and boy by the end we were both insanely sweaty (95 degrees and humid today).

So here are some pictures of Trouble and some other horses boarded at the place.

Nice pictures! Glad you didn't get seriously hurt. Looks like you had a nice day.
Amigo seems to be doing really well! I don't think I've ever seen 42 year old horse.
All the horses are very pretty.
Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks everyone! Trouble knows she is cute and she takes it to her advantage. I can't believe she was scared of some white poles. There were a bunch of mulit-colored ones in the indoor arena which she walked by and had no problem. O and don't forget that this was the mare that was a ballerina for a costume class, and didn't even flinch when I put a tutu on her.:rolleyes:

And yes Amigo really is incredible. He really has no special treatment when it comes to feeding which is amazing. A good teeth floating twice a year and he digests and eats just plain oats and mixed grass hay. Can you say EXTREMELY easy keeper? He had a seizure two years ago which the BO didn't think he would pull through. He did, and the only permanent effect on him is that he walks a bit sideways, but its hard to notice, especially when he comes cantering in to the barn . Other than that he is a happy camper; his owner never comes out but the BO has adopted him as one of her own. All the boarders come around and help brush him and hose him down in the summer. He loves the attention.

Hard to tell from the pictures I posted, but he is extremely swayed back. It isn't surprising since he is 42 years old.

I was going to say that he looked very sway back but I expect that for such an old man. That's sad his owner doesn't come out to see him :( Glad everyone else loves him tho!

Glad you weren't hurt any worse. Horses can be so silly sometimes..Aww that is sad Amigo's owner doesn't spent time with him. Sure glad he gets attention from you all and the BO. Poor ole boy.

Yeah its sad that she has never come out. There are three horses out of 30 that never really come out. Out of the 3 I've met one a few times when he comes out once a week to drop off the board money. It's really sad. I don't think Amigo's owner pays board anymore to be honest. I remember the BO telling me that she was going through a rough financial period and was only paying every few months. I don't think that's changed since last time he was trimed with all the BO's horses.
