Okay guys, I am getting nervous. I signed up myself and my hubby for a two mile run/race in our nearby town for TONIGHT. The weather is forecasting thunderstorms/rain and the race goes on no matter what the weather is.
I just started running in March. My final goal is to RUN an entire 5k (3mi) race in Sept with 2 of my girlfriends. This is just a stepping stone in that direction.
I can do 2 miles running on the treadmill with no walking pretty well, but outside running is a whole other ball game - very tough for me.
I have never been athletic in my life. I am worried I am going to suck at this.
Just have to get this all out before we leave.... AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it easier to run in the rain (don't get on with heat) :). Good luck, and have fun!

Good luck! Just relax and enjoy it. I agree with Kevin, you are doing it for yourself. ;)
However you do you still do better than everyone who is sitting on the couch tonight! (Including me) You can be proud of yourself.

I agree, I actually kind of like running in the rain. It keeps you cool and you don't sweat as much!:p

I'm back - picture to come after I warm back up! I finished with my best time ever - which still needs improving - but I DID IT!!
And it didn't just rain - it POURED. Like thunder and downpour. I think I was soaked through to my underwear by the 1/2 mile mark.
Wooo hoooo! I feel great and I am so thankful for the support and that my husband went with (he did even better than me and left me in the dust!)
