Worked Grace in the "ring" it's taking us a few years but she is finally able to canter in our "ring". You'll notice her pinning her ears and swishing her tail, she was very annoyed with me. I was making her work while there was still food in her hay net and she doesn't like cantering in the circles. I think its because she has to try harder to balance herself! Lazy mare! hahaha

I don't ride English but are the reins supposed to be straight like that. It doesn't look like she has any slack in her mouth at all? Like I said though I don't ride English so I am unsure of how they are supposed to look in the face. She has a smooth canter looks like. You are a good rider. How tall is Gracie?

Yes, in dressage you have more contact then in most western rides. :-D She was also fighting me tooth and nail the whole time. Every time she breaks gait is when I give with my hands and lose contact. She also has a flash band on as she is notorious for taking the bit and trying to pull me out of the saddle, she doesn't like the flash at all and throws her head up in protest when I ask for contact and she isn't in the mood. But when she is, I get a beautiful collection.

I'm just getting back into dressage and she is very heavy on the forehand.
Gracie is 17.1hhs and her canter is AWESOME, most pacers have canters that are so smooth you barely move.

TBL- yes she was very very mad at me. I dared to pull her away from breakfast to have a ride in before the heat and then I dared even more to make her canter! I am evil and she is going to call the aspca on me. But notice as annoyed and angry she is with me she is still cantering and trying. I know cantering in our ring is tough for her but I also know she can do it so she has no excuse! :D
