Who is from Tennessee or is familiar with the weather? We've wanted to go to "Road to the Horse" for a long time, but we hate to leave the horses. If we brought them and found a camp near Murfreesboro, Tenn, would the weather be warm enough to ride ? Maybe this is just a pipe dream but we won't know if it could work unless we start investigating.

How soon do they sell out of tickets for "Road to the Horse"? This year it's the end of February...is it really cold at that time?

Anyone know of a horse camp near there with full hook-ups? Just asking!;)

I grew up in TN. It is cold but I used to ride in the winter. Not sure but SOuth Fork riding and camping I believe is in the same area. I know you can camp there. Also East Fork as well.
I can't remember the full names. Mind went blank. They sell out quick. If you are going buy tickets then get on line and find out when they go on sale. They might be on sale now. Ask Peggy Sue.

Feb. here can be cold and wet depending how that year goes. We really won't see any really warm decent weather until sometime late March as to riding and it can still be quite chilly.

Southfork is in East TN, Road to the horse is at the Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, pretty sure at least a couple of hours drive. I don't know of anyplace in that area you can camp and ride though there is the Twin Forks trail not far out of Murfreesboro where you will find trails, but no camping is allowed there. There is Long C trails in Westmoreland, they have a lot of trails, a camp ground and cabins they rent out as well as a house. It would be at least a good hour or hour and a half drive to Murfreesboro, but you would get some good riding time in if you don't mind riding while it is cold. They are now open year round. Their website is HERE (http://www.longctrails.com).

Thanks Paso, I just googled it. It's an hour from Murfreesboro...that could work.

I knew it couldn't be far. I live in Portland and it takes me about 50-55 minutes to haul my horse to Long C, but we can get to Murfreesboro from my house in about 45 minutes.

If you decide to try Long C I think you will enjoy the trails there, they do have some great overlooks there, much prettier in the spring though. lol

Have a good time at Road to the Horse, I live in TN and have never been to a one of them.:p

Peggy Sue...you are going? Oh wow, we do have to meet up. Before the time comes we'll arrange a meeting spot...can't wait. It will be so much fun to meet you!!!

We could only get the top tier, but looks like the place isn't that big, we should be able to see. I can't believe I ordered tickets 7 months in advance and couldn't get a front row...this is so popular, especially with Anderson, Cox and Parelli.

There isn't a bad seat in the house as long as you aren't front row on one of the end :)

I am front row section 144

we'll figure something out for sure

I won't have a lot of flexibility because I will be with 2 non forum members staying about 1/2 hour away but definitely during the show.

Its not that big of an arena and there are lots of time to walk around so finding time to meet at the event won't be hard.
