Poor little kitty- Chance just doesn't sem to fit her, and she completely ignores the name. My SO gave her that name when we THOUGHT she was going to be his kitty- she decided otherwise, lol!

Anyone have any good ideas?

Here's the newest pic I have of her- by the way, it's been estimated that she's more like 6 months, so she goes in to the vet on Tuesday. If they confirm she's old enough, she'll be spayed, otherwise, she'll just get her shots.

And some from my other thread on her:

I like Panda--that's cute! And say her name when you feed her--that'll learn her.

Panda's kind of cute- we''l see what else comes up, but that's ten times better than her name now!

As for saying her name, we're starting to wonder if she's slightly deaf, he,he! She totally ignored Chance, and we used it quite a bit.

She is such a beautiful cat. Cats that look like that are very very hard to find around here. I'm terrible at names, Molly came with hers but she doesn't respond to it, she's such a rip she doesn't respond to anything unless she feels like it!!!! Toys get her attention. I'll be calling her and she'll be standing right there and look at me like "Yeah right like I'll be answering you!" she has such an attitude for a baby! She puts the bigger cats and Noah right in their place! She makes me laugh. Jack and Bo might respond to their names if they feel like it but none of them act like they really know their names.

Good luck with finding the perfect name for the perfect little beautiful kitty!

She's a pretty laid back kitty, very cuddly at this point with me, but isn't sure of the other cats yet. I should get a pic of her now- she's sleeping with her paws crossed- so cute!

Thanks for the ideas so far!

I forgot that when we were looking for a cat and I was checking PetFinders there were 2 black & white fuzzy kitties, one I couldn't have it was too far away and they only adopted within 60 miles of their shelter. His name was Valentine and one I was really interested in but didn't think the othes would accept because she was 6 or 7 yrs old. I thought the others would have issues if it wasn't a kitten, that's what several rescues [including the one I was in contact with about her] told me. Anyway her name is April. I wanted her so badly but we all thought with an older cat the gang might not be happy. They aren't that happy with Molly either and she is a baby. They don't hurt her just hiss or growl. She does the same but then they'll play so they are getting used to each other. They kiss each other, play then hiss. Silly kids. I hope April gets a good home, she looked like an April, so pretty.

If you look on line I think there are sites with cat names to choose from. There are so many names though it gets confusing. I was actually going to name Molly Maggie Mae since my brother in law's dog was named Molly but then his Molly died and I thought the rescue lady might get upset if I changed her name so I kept it Molly. I do like the name but felt bad because of my late "neice" Molly.

Thanks for the tip, oursarge!

I just hope since I've already called and made an apointment under Chance, that they can still change the name- harder if it's already in the computer!

They can change the name in the computer. I had Angel, who was Spaz first, she still is a Spaz, but Angel was needed. I could call her a Spazy Angel...LOL

I just remembered, my sisters Black and White Kitty was named Boots. He was a nut.
Mine was Bently, but probley not a good name for a girl.
And Chico, I had a black and white named Chico, hmmm, another boy name.
Never had a black and white girl kitty.

I used to have a black and white one almost like her, but for some reason, I don't think Sylvester's a girl's name!

If not Sylvester, how about Sylvia?

Duchess? She seems pretty good at lording it over :p

A friend of mine calls his cat "Babbatat", can't remember her real name :p she'd suit Babbatat!! Loll.

I always liked Quiz or Chess for a black & white cat.

She is gorgeous! My neice had a kitty like her and named her's Panda....I think that would be a perfect name for her! I had a black and white kitty similar to her when I was a kid, her name was Bridget. But, I like Panda for a name, lol.

Panda is cute. But for some reason Selina comes to mind.

Those are all pretty good ideas. I'm wondering if anyone knows any withcraft type names. For instance, Sabrina's named for "Sabrina the Teenaged Witch". Taz is self explanatory, and of course there's Damien. Junior's the only one that didn't make the cut on those - for some reason, we started calling him that because of his size, and it stuck!

He,he! We cross posted, Cat! Selina... I like that!

Looked up name meanings for you, maybe these will help.

Selina is a variant of Celena which is of Greek origin for "the moon".

Serena is of Latin origin meaning serene or calm.

Thank you Cat, for looking that up. I agree with both you and Remali, I'm really leaning towards Selina- with my luck, though, she'll get called Sellie, he, he!

She's definitely old enough to be spayed.

I just can't get it through my head that she's a she. Are you sure? She looks male to me... but it might be her coloring. It's the tuxedo.

He, he! I wondered too, but with Becky's help, we checked, and no little lumps on her. The other thing is that it seems like she's getting along pretty well with Damien and Junior- at that age, they'd be having a fit I would think- invasion of territory and all that.

I'll know for sure on Tuesday, he, he! It's awful hard to check under all that hair!:D

She looks like a Sasha to me...

Gypsy Rose
11-09-2008, 08:53 AM
Yeah, WB's making me wonder, lol!

Becky's taken in a lot of rescues, and I'm not too bad myself, especially when they're that big- trouble is, she doesn't really like to be messed with in that area, he, he! Not really smart to try to check 5 times to be sure, lol!

She looks like a Sasha to me...

That's pretty good, too! Never thought of that one- thanks! Now I've just got to see which one SHE likes, lol!

My SO came up with Trixie, which is kind of cute- I'll have to think about that one!

KittySawrus

Have you tried them all out on her? Trixie is a very cute name :D tho I always liked "Sellie" for Selina.

Gypsy Rose
11-10-2008, 11:12 AM
I think she's going to end up being Trixie. It's cute, and if she grows up to be too regal for that, I can always call her Beatrix, he, he!

I want to thank everyone for their ideas and suggestions. Even though I've chosen a different name, I think the ideas given helped get both my SO's and my minds more tuned in to finding a name.

KittySawrus

Or Trixibelle :D or Bellatrix :D which is my Belle's long name ;D
