I have a rare stall opening (My friend took her horses home when she lost a couple at her place) I've been looking for the right boarder & also someone to take over HE's job when she goes to college ( she can't stay here & clean stalls?)
So Kathryn will be bringing her 23 year old QH buckskin-don't know his name yet. She seems really nice & is excited to be coming.
Weebles will be getting a new boyfriend! She's been lonely since we lost Heaven.
I'm looking forward to a new horse to fuss over. I still haven't found one of my own.

I wish I lived close to you, I'd bring Angel and her baby for you to play with....and I'm a pretty good stall cleaner, aisle sweeper and chore tender. I do all that at the barn I'm at now because the BO won't  Maybe you could move here? and buy the barn I'm at? :innocent:

Good Luck, sounds like a good thing. A buckskin is something I'd love to have.

I'm sure she'll have a great time with you. I think you will make her laugh like my friend makes me laugh when I'm there [You make me laugh here] and she'll have a grand time and the horse of course will be very happy.

Good luck finding your horse, seems it's been a long process. My friend just took in an Arabian, she is hoping that one of the guys who rides there will buy him since he's been telling her to be on the look out for a nice Arabian. She doesn't keep any on the farm but found one that she really likes personality wise and looks wise. If he doesn't buy him [I think it's a him] he'll be looking for a new home, too bad you are so far away. He might not be what you are looking for but she said he's quite flashy he's sorrell with white that goes almost to his knees. I haven't met him yet, maybe tomorrow.

Have fun with your new boarder, when HE leaves you sure will miss her and she'll miss you. Is she going far or can she come home for lots of visits?

Vegashorselady & EW- She seems nice, has boarded at some not so good places & I'm sure will soon find her horse is treated like a King.
Another good thing- she's divorced so there will be no man telling her she spends too much time at the barn & stuff like that. Very independent.
I just hope she's not too shocked when she sees the 'crop' growing out back.:innocent:

I kind of wanted to do another baby before I got too old. But Hey!! IF I can't do it I'll have HE do it for me

JackieB I think that drives some of us married ones nuts too!!! I told my man before we were ever married don't ever tell me what I can or can't do or as the Eagles song says he'll be eating lunch all by himself. My parents were very strict, I wasn't allowed to do anything, I couldn't even have riding lessons because my mother thought I'd get hurt. I know that she thought she was doing a good thing but it didn't help me. Since I was always being bossed around 'til I left home then I wasn't going to be as an adult. My husband and I always talk about things and decide as a team. The only issue is dogs and I understand why he is terrified of German Shepherds but he also knows if my best friend's daughter's dog has a litter one will be be mine!!!! They actually want me to take the older one but he really is so scared of her and I am afraid she'd kill my cats, I don't trust her with little animals as much as I love her. I caught her with a kitten in her mouth one day. I screamed at her and she put it down gently but I don't know what would have happened if I didn't see her so I don't trust her even with puppy really. She'd have to be an outside girl, live in the barn, but I couldn't do it to him because of how scared he is of her and her sister. I was shocked he got close enough to get a picture of her! Other than that we don't have much in the way of issues. I know he'd give me the world if we had the $!

Natisha now I'd love to know the big plans, you'll have to send Ms Snoopy off on an errand then PM us all!!!!!!! I really do hope your new boarder turns into a great boarder, it all sounds perfect.

I'm sure you will find your mare eventually and it will be a lucky girl! I guess I'm the only one who has issues with mares, probably because mine is nuts when she's in heat, scary nuts!!!!

Oh boy. I may be in trouble. Maybe she was just nervous. The horse is very pretty, pushy, demanding & Parelli wannabe trained. sigh
The conversation went something like this:
She: He will sometimes bump you with his head
Me: You mean he bumps you
She: Oh, he'll bump you too
Me: You mean he'll bump me once
She then looked at me like I suggested I would start him on fire.
The horse is a little underweight especially over the topline. His feet are long with bad angles & she said he was only 6 weeks out & doesn't know if her farrier will come out this far. She doesn't like my farrier because she said he did her horse once & she thought he cut him too short though he wasn't even sore. So she may have to find a new farrier & soon too.
I don't care what she does with her own horse but if she is going to be handling the others here she will have to learn how to set limits. sigh

hopefully she will just need some guidance from you. She has probably been told training methods from people who may not be as knowledgeable as you are. She probably just needs advice and support

She probably just needs advice and supportI don't know that I know any more than she does but I do know he should never bump into anyone. She told me he is headshy from someone striking him. After she left I petted him all over his head including rubbing in his ears, & this was through the stall bars so he could have easily moved away. He is not headshy.
Everyone has their own way of doing things & I let the boarders do as they please unless it puts others in danger. Sometimes it is hard though.
If she wants help she'll ask.

oh boy...I'm sure everything will turn out fine.Everything was fine this morning. He got a little pushy but soon changed his mind & was a gentleman. He does not even so much as pin his ears at another horse.
He will be by himself but next to others until his fecal test comes back.

I'm sure that you and the horse will be just fine. The horse owner sounds like she lacks a little confidence is all. You'll get that going for her.

In the owner's defense, I went to my new boarding stable pretty much setting up a bad rep for Fred. He'd just done so many different things and was a grouchy old man by the time we left the old place, I figured making them go "on guard" was better than coming in telling them he was an angel.

He ended up doing a 180 and being amazing, but I thought it was better safe than sorry.
