I always post lots of pictures of my ponies, and the goats too sometimes. But I never really show off the dogs, and that needs to change!:p They're my babies too.:D

I bathed Cassy (Collie/Lab) today. You can tell she was just thrilled to be in there.;)

And some pics of Buddy (Golden Retriever).:) He still spends about 70% of his time at our house. He's kind of adopted us.:) I pay more attention to him than his real owners do. He's a good boy. Not quite as hyper ad he used to be. He's grown up a little, gotten taller and filled out some, and maybe even matured a tiny wee bit. My mom and I taught him to sit and shake, and he comes when you call him now! And he's gotten really good with the horses. Progress!:D

Thanks.:)

Yep, Cassy hates baths, lol.:p Buddy is lucky he wasn't there at the time or he would have been in the tub next!:p

I think you should take a portrait of Buddy with his tongue hanging out so that everyone can carry it around and show that not only Chows or Chow mixes can have purple on their tongues.

Good looking dogs! How old is Casey? She's got that distinguished look, but I know some dogs just do. It's the second time today I've seen pictures of a dog in that sort of bucket (trough?), looks like a good idea!

Yeah, I think so too. He's definitely Golden Retriever and his tongue is definitely purple.:p

Thank you.:) Cassy is 7 or 8? I don't remember exactly but I think I was around 10 when I got her. I'm 17 now. So she has to be at least 7. My puppy is getting old.:(

The bucket thingy I'm bathing her in is actually one of those big heavy duty livestock water tubs. I have identical ones in the horse and goat pastures for their waterers.:) That one has a small crack in the top of it so we deemed it Cassy's bath tub.

Very nice looking dogs.
Other observations-you have my favorite kind of shovel & that's a mighty big step to the door-is that house new?

I actually think he looks like a chow cross. .. Not full golden. His face reminds me of a chow cross a friend had when I was young.

Both pups are adorable!! Casey certainly didn't enjoy the bath but I bet she enjoyed the rolling in the grass after the bath (that is if she does that, it's the first thing my dogs do if I let them after a bath! )

I also think that people need to quit saying that dogs with black/purple on tongue must be, or have, chow in them.

Thank you.:)

As for the house, it's not new anymore. We moved into it 6 years ago- will be seven on Thanksgiving day. We've actually lived here on this property for 12 years, but we didn't always have that double wide. Our old house was a lot.. different. Actually my shed/barn/tackroom was our house back then. We had running water but no hot, only cold. There was electricity but not in the bathroom, we had two oil lamps in there. And a composting toilet and a bathtub, no shower. We heated with a wood burning stove (actually we still do in this house too). There was a loft with an actual ladder that my brother and I shared until we built on and my parents gave me my own room. It was small but we painted it pink and white and I liked it. It's our kidding pen now, the goat kids love it.

But yes, getting back to the original point, it is a really high step. We were supposed to get a porch a long time ago but it never happened. The money just never seemed to be available. So we don't use that door hardly at all. We go in and out through the basement, which Buddy is staring at in the picture of him standing by the grill. We use the back door sometimes too, we have big barn stone rocks for steps back there.

Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone.:)

I don't think he is part Chow but I could be wrong. He looks like a Golden Retriever to me and acts like one, but I don't know where his real owners got him so I can't say for sure.

Cassy did roll in the grass (after shaking water all over me about four times:rolleyes:), I got it on video.:D

I'll bet you & your Dad could easily make a porch from wood judging from how he built your hitching post.

Yeah, I guess you could say we are.:) I pretty much grew up here on the farm, we moved when I was five and I don't remember a whole lot before we came here. Suburb life wasn't for us, and our 80 acres of land was worth roughing it for a while. We definitely did live rustic our first five years here. I should post pictures of what our old "house" looked like back then. It's kind of neat.

As for the porch, my mom and I had the same thought, but my dad disagrees. He says he can't built it, and even if he could we still don't have the money for the materials.
