So I went out, got the blankets and put them on. I think they were happy, they just stood there. I so love that they are good with me doing things to them with no halter.
Awww, warmth mom, thank you.

When I fed Myst, I had to readjust her top buckle, shes a big girl, was a bit tight for her to eat. Didnt want to cut off her air pipe ya know.

How sweet!! Both of them are adorable. :)
I'm not sure how cold it's suppose to get there, but here it's in the upper 30's. Brrr! I'd believe it. It was already gettin' cooler earlier.

Thanks CG. Both were purchased from forum members at horse.com, on the sale thread.

Awww!!! I love blankies!!! But BE CAREFUL!!! My horse is a bomb proof, been there done that kind of girl and she spooked once when I took her blanket off and it got caught (half off) and she ended up really injuring herself. Like she was on stall rest for 3 months plus. So my best advice is even if they can handle a blanket getting put on without a halter, don't do it!!! Just in case. Now if they are in a stall I do, but not in a pasture!!! Learned it the hard way!! I probably took her blanket off over 100 times before that without incident.

How cold does it get down there, Vicky? It's in the 20's now, here, and by Christmas, that will be a warm night!

Thats good to know. I guess even bomb proof horses can get hurt. Thanks for that info.
Gypsy, its only suppose to get down into the 20s tonight. We can get into the single digits and if the wind factor is right, I have seen a - once or twice.

Snug as bugs in their rugs aren't they? I love how they both are standing nearly the same as if to say 'Yes I know I look good in my blanket'.

Awe, they look so cute in their blankets!:D
It was in the 40's today.. I thought about blanketing but I knew I wouldn't be home to take them off if it got too warm. And it wasn't wet out or real windy, so I wasn't too worried.
I didn't get home until well after dark, so they're going blanket-less tonight (my parents won't allow me to go out and blanket horses when it's pitch black out). The temperature has dropped a little... hope they're not cold:(. They shouldn't be, since it's not wet out. It's the worst for them when it's in the 30's or 40's and wet rainy/snowy/windy out. Tomorrow it's supposed to be like that and in the 30's so I'll blanket both of mine in the morning over breakfast.:D
