Latest Update on Jake (shadowdancer)

Sorry I haven't been on here much or updating anyone, but my life has been pretty much topsy turvy for the last few months.

Tho weeks ago this coming Wednesday, Jake was transferred to a nursing home here. I saw him right after he came in, and he actually seemed better than had been described. He was trying to communicate with me, but couldn't talk because of his trach tube still being in. He still ahs absolutely no use of his left side, though.

Unfortunately, this last Tuesday evening, he was admitted to the hospital here with a temp of 104. He's in ICU, and it seems like the antibiotics they've been giving him might be working this time. We can only hope.

I went in to see him Thursday night, and he was very much aware that I was there, though not as alert as in the nursing home. I'm going to try to get in there again on Tuesday. I was hoping to get in before then, but it's not feasible for me to run back and forth so often unless I need to go to town for something. One of those times I wish I had a little puddle jumper gas eceonomy car, lol!:p

Life is settling into more of a routine for me now, so hopefuly, I'll spend more time on here again. I just hadn't felt like it, though I really couldn't explain why for the life of me.

Thank you to those who have been keeping up on Jake's condition from me via Facebook. I pretty much lost myself in Farmville for a few months, lol! Mindless staring at the computer monitor....:crazy:

I sure hope things get better. I think we all loose ourselves in FarmVille sometimes, it's easier than facing real stuff that is happening. At least he is closer to you now so you can visit more. Only good thoughts.

You knnow, Annie? I think you answered a question for me that I wasn't able to answer. I could not understand why I became so obsessed with that farm! After all, it's only a game. But I guess it was easier to lose myself in that, than to face the fact there's not a darn thing I can really do about any of this this time. I especially couldn't when he was so far away. Now, he has to get out of that ICU unit!

I don't have the issues you are having but some stuff has been bothering me so I will go there and play on my fake farm with my fake animals and just let my mind forget other things. I think if you talk to alot of people they do the same thing, escape to their fake farm. I did it alot last winter, it was like an obsession, I'm not so bad now. You've had so much to deal with you need to escape. I sure wish there was an easy answer to get him better, it has to be so hard, better he's closer but still hard.

Maybe you're right. I don't know what I'd do without the computer, lol! Watch TV? ROFL! I thnk I've watched less than 10 hours of TV in the last year!:hysterical:

I'm glad you popped on for an update. I'm also glad he is closer to you now so he is able to see a familiar face and you can actually SEE his condition and not be waiting for phone calls on how he is doing etc.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm going to go see him on Tuesday for sure. I ahve a doc appointment anyway, so I'll be right there. I just wish I could be in there more often, buit it's just not feasible.
