I haven't been on much lately. It has been such a busy summer but my daughter Noel had her first 4-H show yesterday. It was a LONG and HOT day! Brought back lots of memories from my showing days.

It was a fun day! Caspian was not perfect but it was his first show and he was a little nervous at first. He also acted up when he had to be separated from his trailer-mate (soon to be pasture-mate). We'll have to work on that. They got a few ribbons and Noel learned a lot! I gotta say...he was not the easiest ride yesterday but she just handles him so well and never once got a bad attitude about it. Her favorite was the games at the end...which is what she really wants to do. Poor thing though, she said she knew the pattern but messed up on the first barrel. She was in tears when she realized it because she had been waiting for that all day. She did the key race though and did it perfect. She came home happy and said she's glad to have the challenge to work on things. I'm so proud of her. :)

We're moving the horses to a friends house on Tuesday. We will no longer have the indoor arena and the pasture is smaller. But, we will be starting them on a healthy feed program (they're just on grass now) and overall they will be taken care of much better. I'm excited because I know they'll be so much healthier and I'll be able to get a handle on my mare's weight issues. She's not too bad but is overweight.

Anyway, here are a few pics from the show. I wasn't able to get too many because it was all indoor and I didn't want the flash going off inside.

That sounds like a great show! It's so nice to hear that Noel had fun and wasn't too disappointed about the barrels.
