As I was looking at horses the other day, I remembered that to ride a horse, you've got to have tack! So I was looking at some saddles that I'd like to get, well one of them at least. Tell me your opinions? It's been a long time since I bought a saddle and even then I had no clue what I was doing.

^ as far as these go, I've been looking primarily at the trail saddle (upper right corner). I might invest in a barrel saddle later, but for now I just want a trail or pleasure saddle.

ETA: I've just about decided that I don't want either of the TBs that I've been considering, and the rest of my picks are all Arabs, so that's why these are all Arab saddles.

I'm no help, I hate riding Western, I'm English through and through - but I love the pink one 'case it's pretty ;)

Well the first one you could buy a great used saddle for that price... there are better deals out there...

If those 3 were the only choices, I like the pink one.
I dont like the sales add. To wordy, to many "pretty" words. Either it is 3 1/2 inch or its not,(approx?),never seen it in an ad before.
The saddle may be of good quality, I have no clue, never heard of the company before.
Like Miata said, you can buy a great saddle for the price of the pink one.

Thanks guys. I do like the pink one, but I don't know exactly what I should be paying. I'm still shopping around, but it's kinda difficult to find Arab trail saddles, I'm finding.

I don't like any of those saddles. The pink one, maybe. I'd look and try to get a nice used brand name one for that price. And wait to get the saddle AFTER you get the horse. That way you'll actually know what size and style to get.

I know the basics on saddle fitting so I'm not much help. I don't know if it will help, but I wanted to say that Pandora is a Anglo Arabian. She's very very narrow withered. I ended up searching high and low for a saddle for her, and found a used Simco Trail Saddle in Colorado that had a very narrow tree. It's the narrowest saddle I could find, and I still have to double pad it, so it fits her right.

I agree with Zoel in waiting until after you get the horse to get the saddle. This away you can hopefully find one that fits to a "t", for the comfort of your horse, and so you have less hassle.

I agree, I'm going to wait until I have the horse to actually buy the saddle. But I'm trying to figure out what a good price is for a saddle, what the best brands are, and how to fit a saddle. I have noooo clue.

Hm, I'll look at other saddles too. I thought most Arabs needed an Arab saddle. Angel did, but I didn't have the funds to buy one.
