Friday night, I show up at my brothers football game, to be asked if I knew the girl who lived on Irving street and got hit by a car on tremont street that night by my brothers best friends mom. She didn't know the girls name all she knew was that she had brown hair and was laying in the middle of the street yelling and crying because of the pain. I imediately thought it was my friend Deanna, and the reason I thought this was because, 1] she never lets traffic stop before she crosses the street she just walks out 2] she lives on irving street and 3] she has brown hair. I called her phone, her moms phone, her sisters phone and their house phone. No answer this made me nervous, I was sure it was Deanna. I could barely sleep that night becausei hadn't heard back from any of them. So the next morning I Called Deanna's phone at like 10 to see if she would answer. She didn't. Her mom called me maybe 10 minutes later to tell me Deanna had been hit. I imediatly started to get teary eyed. Her mom told me that she was going to meet some friends to go to the mall and never made it. Her mom also told me she had a slight concussion and that she couldn't hear out of one ear and that she had fractured her leg. Her mom said she would be going back to the hospital to find out if anything else was wrong, and that she would have Deanna call me later in the day when she was feeling a little better. Deanna called me a few hours later and told me what happened. A car she didn't see had whipped around the corner of the street and hit her. She was crying when she told me and all I could say when she was done telling me is "Thank god you're alive!" after I got off the phone with Deanna I called Sam the girl she was going to meet, and I asked her what her and Deanna were gonna do and Sam went on this rampage on how bad of a friend Deanna was to just blow her off like that on friday night and that when she saw her in school she was gonna give her a piece of her mind. All I said was "Well hate to be the one to burst your bubble but the reason deanna 'blew you off' was because she got hit by a car!" and then I hung up. I didn't want t deal with her s***. I haven't heard from Deanna since yesterday afternoon, I tried calling her and she didn't answer, hopefully nothing else is wrong with her :(

Glad she's doing pretty well. Your friend Sam's reaction is a good example of why it's important to always give someone the benefit of the doubt that there is a good reason before getting upset about him/her being late or missing an appointment.

I totally agree on this one, I try to not get upset if people don't show up until I know why.

Good healing thoughts for your friend. As for the other girl, maybe this will make her stop and think before she jumps next time!
Oh no, I hope she feels better!

Thanks everyone! I just talked to her on the phone and I told her all my forum friends said they hope you feel better and she just laughed :p I got an update from her, she is now at boston childrens hospital, they found her skull is fractured and that the hearing problem might be permanent :\

Oh it could have been so much worse. I knew a girl that was riding on a busy road (even though she knew better) and her horse slipped and a truck ran her over. She lost both her legs but is still alive. (Her horse was hit as well, but was fine. He broke his stifle and had surgery to repair it.) I hope that your friend has a speedy recovery.
