Even and Storm (a pony from camp we're considering free leasing for my niece -but she doesn't know that-) just got here :) They are both very quiet ( a good thing for Prado! :) ) Peyton had to run back to camp to finish things up so now my herd has gone from 1 to 3 in about 15 minutes! :p It's exciting to have a full barn..we've been slaving away to get our other 2 stalls ready for these two and it finally happened just last night! Peyton will be back tomorrow to set up her jumps here.

Also just a quick update of Prado- he seems to be sound! Doing well and in good spirits. Vet said I could start riding again but I'm a bit worried so I'm taking it slow and giving him some more time. I've started him on a new joint supp (Steadfast) which covered bones, tendons, ligaments, joints the works so I seem to see an improvement in him between that and the isoxuprine.

Without further ado...PICTURES!

I think you have a happy bunch at your house. I believe that horses need horses and Prado has plenty of company now :). Looks like you will be riding quite a lot in the near future. Glad Prado is ready for it.

Wondering what his brand means? Any info on that. Thanks,

thanks you two :) Yea I'm excited for Wad's to have some fellow horses he can interact with.

Bessie, I was wondering what his brand meant as well. Not sure..apparently he's a papered QH so I'm sure I could find out...

Prado's expression in the "lonely beggar" shot is hilarious. Maybe lonely red headed stepchild beggar?

So cute.

Turn out time! Prado of course took off with me into the pasture but I held on and really got onto him for it... he went running (sound) like a crazy man and yelling for the other horses who walked out like perfect gentleman and quietly went into their own pasture for today.

That's great that Prado seems sound!

Horsey friends are always good, too. I'm sure Prado was beyond excited to see them!

By the way, you have beautiful pastures! I'm jealous of all that grass--it's been so dry here, everything is dying and brown!

Thanks! We've had a lot of rain this past month but it recently stopped and I started worrying my pastures might die...the grass really is great out there. :)

Not sure as of right now. Even's barn is under water right now soooo we aren't really sure. :p The pony may be here indefinitely. I really like him as far as being quiet and polite but we'll see how the riding goes with my niece :)

Awesome! I'm sure those other two will be really good for Prado in terms of calming down a bit. Very important to have roommates when you're a horse!

Well that sounds great for everyone then.... maybe especially Even.... good grief! Why flooding now?

Sounds good to have a pony and friend for Prado too. I hope it works out.

Even and Storm are very happy in their new place. I'm pretty sure it's the nicest barn Storm has ever set foot in. I didn't get a chance to set up jumps or anything last night because it was pretty late by the time I got there and I was wiped. I had to trailer a horse back to Gainesville from camp and then pick up another horse and take it 2 hours south to Brooksville before I could get back and both horses were not easy loaders and I was by myself. After a full summer of camp and a weekend of clean-up I am exhausted. I have some things to take care of in Gville today and then I'm going to head down there and get the jumps set up and school Storm in prep for Michelle's niece.

Also, it looks like I will be taking Even to the hunter pace that Pi and Tofu mentioned a little while ago, along with Mollie, the horse I'm training in Gainesville, for my cousin to ride, and one of my assistants will be bringing her horse so it should be a good time!

Peyton came and set up her jumps today and we both ride Even (different times of course ;) ) and she rode storm. :D

And, of course, this is the hunter pace that I will miss. This abscess is being persistent and, with all the rain, keeping it dry is tough.

Go early! When you get to the road that leads to Boarshead, it is the worst graded road you will drive on; we all joke that it's the massage road. Take your time on that road, it truly is a 5 mph road, but it does end! When you get to the Boarshead Farm turn off, stay on the track since they keep the track open, but the rest is very high. Just like a show, you will have to sign in & get your card at the house/overhang area. There is a large watering tank and a hose, and there is a watering trough and bottled water 3/4 of the way through. It's really well-marked, so you won't get lost. If your horses haven't seen carts, make sure to be out before 8:30, because there is one cart that goes out at about 9ish & she is fast enough that she will catch up with you.

Have a good time!

Michelle, thanks for the pics. I only saw Even once and he looks so much better. I hope that you are having fun with the company.
