Rode Dakota in the parade last night!

It was a lot of fun and Kota was awesome, such a good boy.:) We (my friend Donna and I) threw a ton of candy, we both had our horn bags stuffed full and I had back-up candy in a plastic baggy in my waterbottle holder too.:p
I got pictures of Dakota all prettied up (bathed and braided, etc) before we left the trailer, and my dad took some more when we were riding. So I thought I'd share.:)

The girl in the gray shirt right in front of me used to own Dakota years ago. Small world!:p I think she was his fourth owner, I know the two before that (met them on group trail rides) and then his fifth owner sold him to me.

These horses were awesome. I couldn't get over how big their hooves were. My farrier just shod them the other day. That must have taken a longggg time!

Our parade is actually ridiculously big considering how small our town is. Half the town's population watches the parade and the other half is in it.:p

Only two things went wrong- one was that my friend's granddaughter was supposed to ride with us but she got sick and had to miss it.:( The other bad thing was that I broke my sunglasses.:doh:

Those are wonderful pics of the parade.

It's really not hard to do. I just googled "diamond braiding horses" and instructions popped up. But actually all I really needed was a picture of it done, so I just did an image search for it on google and printed one out and glanced at it now and then when I was doing Kota's mane. The concept is easy, the only hard part is keeping the "diamonds" roughly the same size, which I pretty much failed to do.:p

Allie: thanks!:) I'm slightly obsessed with color cordinating, all their tack has to match or I'm really not happy, lol.:innocent: :p Sometimes I wonder if I should have went with colors that weren't quite so bright and loud, and well, juvenile I guess. I mean him decked out entirely in red, white, and blue, and Beauty in hot pink. But at least he's patriotic and she's pretty in pink, and everthing matches.:p

Because she yelled at me one too many times when she was just pissed off and needed someone to blame. She is so competive and b*tchy and I just have no interest in being friends with her or making nice. I don't think I can be the bigger person here, because I just don't like her and she said a lot of hurtful things to me in the past.
