and Bob is on the road, on his way to Cali, and on the phone looking for a babysitter, for me. I have such a hard time even sitting here, and Im off to the couch as soon as I post this.
I have an appt with the chiro, trying to find someone to drive me. Not that I cant drive, but Im affraid of the after effects, the pain Im in now is enough. Im getting bitchy and having a hard time dealing with the pain, and the need of someone to help care for the horses and scoop cat poo.
Getting old sucks and Im really feeling sorry for myself right now. Or hating the fact that Im in need, and hate needing.
Please just pray for my back, thats all.
Bob says hes gonna try and take a few days when he comes in next week, that there is a meeting he has to attend anyway and then he can take care of things around here for a few days.
I want my sissy, then Id know it'll all be fine.
sorry for the whine, but no one here to whine to.

Aww, Vick! I'm so sorry you're hurting and feeling down. If I/we lived close enough, you know we'd be there in two shakes of a sheep's tail!!

Instead, I'll keep you in my thoughts/prayers today, as requested.. I really hope things will look up for you soon! Good luck at the chiro!

I'm so sorry that you're hurting Vick. I can't even imagine the kind of pain you're in... I had back trouble (lower back that affected the sciatic nerve and shot pain through my bum and down my left leg) about two years ago and I would just whimper and my eyes would water - my Doc gave me strong anti-inflammatories that made it mostly go away. Do you have any kind of medication that helps? Are you doing physical therapy? I know what you mean about the drive - mine starts to show back up slowly if I do a long drive... I sure hope you can find a ride. Hang in there - we'll all be sending prayers and good vibes your way!

While I'm glad you are going in to the chiro... I'm sorry that you don't have anyone near you to help you out. I will be praying that the chiro can work miracles and you have a quick recovery.

My back popped and i have some relief.
My appt is at 4:20. My neighbor is going to take me. Bob called another neighbor who is going to feed the horses tonight, try and get a hold of someones phone number for me. I will then call her and see if she can come stay for a few days, to feed horses and make sure Im ok.
The chiro called me a bit ago, Bob called earlier and asked him to and to relieve my issues, Im worried that this will hurt like heck afterwards and then I wont be able to move. The chiro said he is going to take xrays, and if an adjustment is not an option, he will put me on therapy, its a machine that works your muscles, its pretty cool, and then traction. Ill check in later tonight, depending on how Im feeling.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts.

Ok, here is the update.
Chiro poked and proded, lifted legs, had me bend as far as I could, checked my reflexs(good), took xrays(not bad), and he seems to think that my Piriformis muscle is causing strain on my sciatic nerve.
He had me on the therapy machine, oh that felt good. Its a machine that put electrodes into your muscles and they relax. I sure enjoy that machine. Then he gave me some stretches to do at home. He knew I was not ready for an adjustment, so that will happen maybe Thursday. I have to ice my back and put wet heat on my bum.
My other neighbor came over and fed the horses, got feed ready for the AM and will feed them then.
He will continue to feed until either Bob comes home or we can get a hold of a lady I know, if she will come stay with me for a couple days, then she will feed.
All is covered here. Im going to go take meds, stretch, ice and heat myself down.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Oh goodness, Vick.. now you're speaking my language. Anyone with sciatic issues has my sympathy, as even the amount of trouble I've had (which is small in comparison to yours, from the sound of it) has been miserable.

So glad you have people close by who can/will help! Keep us updated, and stay on top of your home maintenance!

Aww geez, Vick....I KNOW exactly how you feel. Been dealing with back pain for 9 yrs! I am sorry you have to go through this. It totally sucks!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Ice will keep the swelling down, but the heat sure makes it feel better. Get some of those "corn or rice" packs. Throw them in the micro and put them on your back. If you don't have one of those, let me know!

Wish I lived closer...you KNOW I would help in a heartbeat!

Well i hope you are resting or sleeping soundly. Sounds like the chiro has a game plan!! Hope you are back to your self shortly. And I don't think it's an age thing. . although i swear I started falling apart at 28!!!!!! (I'm 29 now).

Sorry I missed this thread earlier, Vick!

I hope by the time you see this, you'll be feeling even better than in your last post- back pain is no fun, and it sounds like yours was enough to put a sane person in the looney bin!

Me too, I really hope you will be feeling better. Glad you found someone to help with everyone. See if I lived by you I could just take your guys to my house and forget to send them home! Really though I hope that you are better soon. Back pain is terrible, I don't have it but my good friend does and some days she can't move. She doesn't have horses to take care of though. When you have horses it's hard to be sick or to go away. Feel better soon.

Been there, done that but not as bad as you. How far are you from MN? I would be there in a new york minute. Those rice things that go in the microwave are wonderful, I have a hot tub you should come here. Anyway hope it's get better soon.

Thanks all

Talked to the lady last night, between her work and school schedule, shes out. No biggy, my neighbor will feed before and after work.

I feel better today than I have in quite a few days. I woke up around 3 and took some more meds, got a hot pad, wet cloth and ice, went back to bed. My back keeps popping, that is a good thing. It hasnt popped in 9 yrs. So maybe this was a blessing in disguise..lol My back will now be adjustable, and I found that my back is not as injured as the one doc said(which I wasnt to sure of his diagnosis any way, thought they were blowing it out of proportion)

You guys Rock. Oh and my heat pads are all rice or corn bags, love em.
