Meet: A Good Diva (SONY)

A couple weeks ago I posted that we were looking at another horse. She is a black APHA mare. The girl who used to have CHIC bought her as a weanling from Iowa--I guess she wasn't quite the show horse she was looking for so she sold her to her cousin. The cousin has been showing her in English and Western Pleasure--but apparently wants to get into some barrel racing while she is young and I guess "SONY" isn't spunky enough, so she put her up for sale.

I was talking to Chic's owner about something else and she mentioned all this to me. I thought she would be a good horse for my two friends who are looking for their first horse. Well, they weren't able to get her, so my daughter and I went and tried her. I figured if she was anything like CHIC I would love her! Plus she was asking $4500 for her but sold her to us for $2000. So here she is (these are pics from previous owner)--I'll get some of us with her!

Beautiful horse, do you happen to know who in Iowa she got her from? A friend of mine who has a large paint barn gets a lot of horses out of Iowa ( or used to ). Congrats on a new horsie!!!

Wow, she's beautiful. Looks like a good pedigree too, although I don't know about such things. I saw Zippo Pine Bar not too far back, and it looks like she has Easy Jet too, based on the names of some horses I saw. My Buster is an Easy Jet horse.

Thanks everyone!! She does seem to be a really sweet horse. From looking at DAKOTA's pictures, she looks alittle like BEAUTY--you better go check your pasture DAKOTA!! I am not yet sure where in Iowa she came from--I texted her previous owner to ask her (I don't have papers yet). I checked to see if her sire (MR. GOOD AND PLENTY) had a website. I found it and I see he is in Iowa--so I'll have to see if she came from there.

I wish the weather hadn't turned so cold--(Oh, it is November, isn't it!:() This has been my first really "horsie" year; and I am not ready to hibernate for the winter. I did get her out and walk her and lunged her a little. She is a little "up-ity" still; but she listened pretty good.

Yeah, Jacki B it looks like she has some "Jet's" in her pedigree--I'll have to get on All Breed Pedigree and see if I see Easy Jet. Here is a link--this is a neat site for anyone who has not checked it out--it'll trace your horse wayyyyyy back!--just keep clicking on the different horses!!

A couple of people asked me a while back where in Iowa Sony came from--well, I just got her paperwork the other day and after looking over them I see she came from: Lori Hanson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Anybody familiar with them or live near there? I believe it was Mandisue who said she had friends who got some Paint horses from Iowa--is that where they got theirs, Mandisue?
