He ran away. I just came home from work and went to say hi to him in his pen and he wasn't there. The door was open and there was nothing in there. I looked around the pen and he wasn't there. I came in and my aunt left me a note saying that he was lost and none of them could find him. I told my brothers to feed him this morning and they always forget to lock the gate and so he probably just pushed it open and left. And now he's gone. I'm never going to find a dark brown bunny in the dark woods, especially since he's been out almost all day. He could be anywhere. Fml. And no one will answer there phones so I can't tell anyone else. I want my bunny back ): he's not going to survive out there. He's 7 years old and he has ringworm on his nose and his eye and a tumor on his butt... oh my god.

Oh, I hope you can lure him back. My bunny ran off when I was a kid...I was heartbroken. Maybe he's still in the area.

Can you try luring him out with the sound of food being put into his feed pan or something else that may be familiar to him? I'm sure he sees you even if you don't see him. Look under/behind things, look for new dig areas-think like a rabbit.
And get your brothers out there to help too!

Yeah - don't give up hope yet... he may come around to whatever sounds you make at feeding time. Make those :)

My bunny Lucky gets out all the time. He never goes far. I just look under bushes, decks and stuff. And my bunny is only just of 1 yr old! If your bunny is 7, then I doubt he'll go far. I agree. Get your brothers and family to help you. Pour food. Snap carrots. See if you can get him to come to you.

Oh no! I hope you can find him. Call your local humane association too, just in case someone sees him and catches him. Put flyers up in local grocery stores and gas stations..... Leave his cage door open just in case he may come back..... and put food out in front of his cage too maybe. I would be so upset if I lose my bun.... they are so sweet. I feel for you..... I hope you can find him. Let your neighbors know too.

I used to raise rabbits and several got out over the years and they usually come back within 48hrs. Then you just use a net to catch them. Heck one buck got out 2 years ago (Freddy) and hes still running around the yard and we live in the middle of the woods lol I just put a bowl of rabbit chow under my shed every morning.
I hope your bunny returns fjords, If he does come back he will most likely show up around his cage where it smells familiar.

Well, that was simpler than I thought! I woke up this morning to Sawyer yelling up the stairs "Morgan, your bunny's home!" Mom said they woke up and he was in his cage looking for food again. No posters or search and rescue needed. All they had to do was close the gate and cover his hole, then I fed him, and he's happy to be home (:

Oh thank God! I am so glad, I was wondering about him and so worried..... bunnies are so defenseless.
I bet he sure was hungry and thirsty after his exploring!

Oh yes, he's a worn out little old guy lol. Not much hopping around for him today, it's nap time XD. I had a feeling he'd come back, but my little brother (he's autistic) kept saying last night, "Carrots can't sleep in the woods. He needs to come home. Is a bear going to eat your bunny, Morgan?" Poor guy was worried about him but kept freaking me out too! I'm glad he's home and I discovered I need to keep more on top of keeping his holes filled!

Yayyy ! Maybe you could put a small bored or something inside the cage, infront of the door just incase someone forgets to latch the door again.

Ha yeah natisha I have a feeling he's got a little bunny friend out there somewhere ;) he got out this morning too and when I got home from the show, my neighbor a few houses down came over and asked if my bunny was missing. He was behind his house in the bushes. I told Carrots that he's too old for all these adventures! But as soon as I put him back in there, after he got a drink, he went right back to trying to escape again lol. I need to check on that sassy boy more often lol.

You & bunny got lucky this time or times. Your luck will run out if you don't take steps to stop him from getting out. Checking on him isn't enough.

Yeah I've covered all his holes and moved his pen to a place with unbroken ground. And if that doesn't work, I'll have to put him in his wire cage again :/

Some chicken wire should solve the problem. Put it on the ground, he'll still be able to eat grass but not dig out.

Good idea, we'll have to invest in some. Thanks!
Heh, I have one who would get out of the yard and try to sneak back in as soon as I called his name. He lives in the house now though. Skye, my diva bunny can escape the yard I put her in while cleaning her cage, but she always ends up on the porch, waiting for someone to open the door so she can dart back inside the house. She hates being outside for more than a few minutes.
OTOH, my sister's bunny escaped and got ran over :( so you have to be careful!
