Are their English saddles ok? Certain ones to stay away from. I am trying find a used one, but I really want brown, because I have brown tack. So I wondered if their saddles were ok to buy or not.

Could you put which ones you are interested in or at least the brand? They have some good and some bad so without knowing what you are looking at its hard to say.

I was looking at the Raleigh...I figured they were on the junk side, but I thought I would check.

Yah, I don't think I would buy one. What exactly are you looking for?

A nice used, preferably brown, 17" to 17.5" seat...AP...regular tree...Not too much, but in decent shape. I am just getting into English, so nothing too nice or expensive. I was hoping to stay around 200-300...I was hopen my fiance would get me one for christmas.

Hmmm....have you looked at Tack Trader.com? They may have something. I would stick with a better-known name brand tho, if you can find one, especially with an English saddle.

I was going to suggest a Wintec if you don't mind synthetic. I have one I really like, and while it was more than 300 new you can find them cheaper used.
