So, it's high time I was back in the video making biz...I was up at Strang for a while on Sunday so I thought I may as well take some films. This is of Bramble, the 11-y-o Shetland Pony gelding...I just found the start hilarious, where he look sat me and pulls faces...
I tied him up because, if I don't, he spins and kicks because he's a rude fidget. He wasn't too bad, actually...perhaps because he was on film :p
And sorry about the random title, I must've uploaded the wrong version :/
Song is "My Beloved Monster" by Eels, from Shrek 1.
Anyway, enjoy!!

He can be very cute when he wants:3 can you believe we can actually plait that mane for shows? Which he wins. Because he's amazing at jumping!
I love the Shrek songs! I have the first movie soundtrack and downloaded most of the second and third.

Hahah, I loved the "bite attempt #" lol !! Too funny. He didn't seem that bad but arn't ponys known for most likely being rude or fussy? He is cute with his personality. Too funny. Do you have videos of him jumping?

Awwww, that was so cute. Those little ponies crack me up.:) So many of them have that Napolean Bonaparte aspect to their characters. :) Ears pinned back, nipping, pawing.
"I am the great and worthy Bramble! I will NOT stand idly by while this common girl ties me to a post and then adorns me with a dirty sheet. I WILL NOT!"
"Oh hush now, Bramble. She'll be done in a minute and then you may return to your stall."

Hehe, I wondered if the bite attempt thing was too much...glad y'all enjoyed :D
IrisGreen He isn't too bad when you tie him up, a trick I've learnt, or once you've got his bridle on. A reason I tied his lead rope too short (also to stop him spinning) But he did used to kick forwards with his back legs when you tried to do his surcingles over his belly, and he hates getting his girth done up, and also if the lower leg sldies back whilst a kid is riding him - so us leaders at the RDA have a heck of a fight sometimes :p he has improved hugely, and he isn't too bad when you're leading him to the field - not over-excitable or anything!
LOL JackieB THAT IS SO TRUE! He totally thinks that! Possibly why he hates being led...or having anything to do with us, really ;)
As for vids of him jumping...:( unlikely, seeing as how none of my friends are small enough to ride him, and I'd need permish from parents if I were to take that kind of film. But next time there's a gymkhana I'll ask :) he's so cute to watch - he just pops them every time!!
btw, ownedby7horses you got the siggy in!! w00t :D again, glad you likee :)

If there was a House of Lords for horses, Bramble and all little ponies like him would be in it. They just crack me up with all of their attitude. Like I think you or someone else said earlier, you just have to love them. One could kick me square in the shin and I swear I would still love that little horse.
Hey, check out the new "great bands" thread. Cool. I just posted an ELO song. Lots of cello!

Cello!!! Ahhh, that's my instrument :D *goes checks thread*
Bramble has belted my friend in the head and gave a very short but acute case of tetanus (or so she suspected), but tbh I still love him. When he perks up and tries, he really is a great pony. He was abused at his former home - when he wouldn't do as his children riders told him, their mum - not exactly petite, as I'm told - would get on and beat him into submission. He certainly shows signs of being reluctant about some things, but he's getting over it ;) he's certainly not malicious.
Bramble would lead the House of Lords!! Along with Dame Jade (another bitey, snatchy pony, who also tends to buck riders off :O) and Lord Jake (who likes to eat...everything...especially arms.)

Awe, loved the video! What a cute 'lil guy! And feisty!:p ...... Actually he reminds me of Beauty.:innocent:
As for vids of him jumping...:( unlikely, seeing as how none of my friends are small enough to ride him, and I'd need permish from parents if I were to take that kind of film.
Awe, I want to see him jump!:( I guess I'll just have to come over and ride him for you, lmao.:p (that would be soooo funny since I haven't been in an English saddle in over 5-6 years:cool:). How tall is he? How tall are you? (I'm yet to meet some one shorter then me who isn't under ten, lol)I'm only 5 ft. tall and don't weigh that much, so I probably wouldn't be too big for him.:D I'll just hop on the next plane and be right out.:p
I remember when I was 11--long before Dakota and Beauty came into my life-- I used to take lessons at a riding stable (not a good experience, but that is beside the point). There were two tiny, fat little Appy ponies named Fancy and Tuffy that a barn pal and I used to ride around. They were so cute!:D And so tiny! Of course so were we, neither of us had much height to talk about. Strangely enough, I haven't grown a whole lot since then.:innocent:

Daww, Kota that's soooo cute!! Fancy and Tuffy xD what great names!
I had no idea you were 5'? I'm 5' 6", and 8 and a half stone...technically Bramble couldn't carry me, because I'm over 7 stone. Perhaps Nicole or Becca could though. I'll ask Rebs (instructor). In fact Becca probs could, Nicole's legs are too long. Sorted!! Thanks for the ideas :D I'm totally asking Rebs now if she can do it. Aaaaah :D
Of course you are MORE than welcome to jet out to here and ride him :) meet him, saddle him up...you can be a Bramble owner for a week :D roflmayo!!
As for his height, I'd have to guess about 11-12hh...*does mental arithmatic: "If Wispa's 13.3hh (I can ride her) and Jade's 12.2hh..."*
ETA I didn't realise Beauty had an attitude :p she always looked pretty good to me ;D

Yes, I am really that short. People never seem to guess that about me from pics/vids, but it's true. I have a variety of "short" nicknames to prove it.
So are you able to ride him? Or are you too tall for him? He looks like he'd be a fun ride!:D

LOL, I'll be right out.:p I'm definately very tempted, but unfortunately I don't have my own private jet. That could be a problem.:innocent:

Oh yes, she's got lots of it! She thinks she's a Queen and should be treated like royalty.:p lol

You could save up money a little at a time for a couple of years and then go. It would truly be the trip of a lifetime. Of course, you'll get to travel if you enlist in the Air Force. I traveled through Europe during one summer in college and it was such a great experience.

You should definitely come out sometime, Kota :D you can stay at Ivesley and we can go out on some hacks in an English saddle :3 then you can come see Bramble at Strang!
What fun :p
In short, naww, I couldn't ride him. But I'll ask becca if she will next lesson...on Sunday!!
As for lack of private jet...you could always sail? Got a rowboat? :D
You were in the Air Force JackieB? Did you fly? :) I'd love to take a jaunt in a small plane!! Mum's done aerobatics before :O scary stuff!

No, I wasn't in the Air Force, at least not me personally. Dakota is planning to enlist in the Air Force to be a K9 handler. My father was in the Air Force for 30 years, though. We were stationed in Keflavik, Iceland in the mid-1960's during the height of the Cold War. I remember it, but I was very young.
I do have a pilot's license for gliders. They fly gliders all over the UK. Many, many more glider clubs there than in the U.S. I was looking at them online just the other day in fact. There are about a half dozen glider clubs in Northeast England. You should go fly in one sometime. My guess is that your dad would be glad to join you since he flies model gliders.
Your mom did aerobatics? Cool. She sounds adventurous. I've done a bit of aerobatics in a glider, but I don't have the stomach for it. I'm just not too comfortable because of the G forces. I just like gliding around up there looking at the countryside, searching for thermals, and soaring with the birds that occasionally show up nearby.

Hmm... we have a tiny little john boat that my bro and dad used to use for fishing.:innocent: But I just don't think that's gonna cut it.
It would be the adventure of a life time, and I would love to come. If/when I join the Air Force maybe I will get stationed in the UK for a while. If I ever do, I'll look you up.:) I haven't ridden in an English saddle in about 6 years, and I only rode English for a very short time. But I do know how to post--I do it with Beauty--and I can jump a little (taugh myself though-- in a western saddle-- so my equitation over jumps is a little iffy :innocent:, lol). I suppose I could talk my cowgirl self into giving it a try!:D And I would love to meet Bramble!:D

Yep, that's with dogs, lol.:D There's bomb sniffing dogs, drug dogs, attack dogs, etc. I've always been interested in rescue dogs too, but that's not military-related. That's something I would like to get into after my Air Force career.

Wooo dogs! working with animals rules. I'd love to have a drug dog - have you seen the Lolpic where the sniffer dog finds drugs on the policeman? I found that so hilarious xD
I shall [watch this space] for any rescue dog tales :3 I daresay my vettyness would get me down that road at some point, too!
