Orlando Bloom is starring in the upcoming remake of The Three Musketeers. SWEET! The movie is being shot in 3D (what isn't these days) and will be released October 14, 2011. The best thing about this movie? It's being filmed in the city I was born!! Wurzburg , Germany. Very cool.

Spider-Man is getting a reboot. No more Tobey Maguire or Kirsten Dunst. Andrew Garfield is now in training as the new Spidey which hits theatres in 3D July, 2012.

Last Airbender movie fans - the movie hits the stores November 16.

Looks like The Hobbit is going to finally get started in January. Ian McKellan indicated he was returning as Gandalf the first of the year. The original Director left and it looks like Peter Jackson could possibly helm the Director role. Let's hope! Martin Freeman is in the running to play Bilbo. Still no release date.

Clash of the Titans 2 will begin filming in February. Most of the cast will be back (the ones that weren't killed off anyway) including Liam as Zeus and Ralph as Hades. Looks like there will be a couple new Gods as well. SWEET! Gemma and Sam are returning as well. We can only hope that the real star returns as well... PEGASUS!

The first t.v. spot for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows aired recently.

Alien is getting a prequel and Ridley Scott is involved! SWEET! More from Ridley:

"The film[s] will be really tough, really nasty," says Scott of the proposed two-part prequel, which he says will take place 30 years before the first film, "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

Scott refers to the first film's Space Jockey, part of a mysterious race of giants that carried the alien egg as their cargo. A mystery in the first film, the creature's origins have not been explored in subsequent entries to the franchise.

Two prequel films are being prepped to shoot back-to-back in 3D. The original script comes from Jon Spaihts with Damon Lindelof currently doing touch-ups.

Ian McShane of Deadwood fame will be Blackbeard in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Very cool. Here is your first look:

He'll be good at that. ;)

This is the only one I'm waiting for! They better get on it. Ian McKellan is not getting any younger.

Martin Freeman would be an excellent choice for Bilbo.

I have to admit I'm getting tired of all the 3D!

Ooh, I love Martin Freeman..... Comes from my obsession with all things Hitchhikers Guide I suppose :).

And being as I am also beyond obsessed with Robert Downey Jr., ......

Iron Man 2 is being released to DVD and Blu-ray September 28th. Not that I don't already have it downloaded to my iPhone and saw it 5 times in theaters... but is set to have some really great extras, including deleted scenes like the famous "helmet kiss" and a special on the late DJ AM.

Due Date starring RDJ and Zach Galafianakis (Alan from The Hangover) will premiere November 5th. Same director as The Hangover, also featuring Jaimie Fox, Danny McBride and Michelle Monaghan. The trailers look pretty funny, very different from any other role RDJ has ever done.

Pre-production has begun on the untitled Sherlock Holmes sequel and it is slated to releaze December of 2011. RDJ, Jude Law and Rachel McAdams will all be returning.

Pre-production has also begun on The Avengers!!! Set to realease in May 2012, it will be directed by none other than Joss Whedon! Sadly, Gwyenth Paltrow is not set to appear, but we will see Scarlett Johanson back as the Black Widow, Don Cheadle as Rhodey and Samuel L. Jacson as Nick Fury. Chris Evans will play Captain America, Chris Hemsworth is set as Thor Jeremey Renner is Hawkeye, and replacing Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/Hulk is Mark Ruffalo (we'll see how that works out...)

In some relation... Thor is set for release in May of next year and in addition to Chris Hemsworth, will also feature Natalie Potman and Anthony Hopkins. Also being directed by another favorite actor/director of mine, Kenneth Branagh!

And to keep up with the comics, Green Lantern is still slated for a June 2011 release. Starring Ryan Renolds (yay!), will also feature Blake Lively (yuck) and Mark Strong (as the villan, of course).

And finally Iron Man 3 is in planning stages and tnetatively set for a 2013 release. RDJ, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle are all definites on this one, and the villan has been hinted at by Jon Favreau to be the Mandarin! This is pending on the hope that Thor and The Avengers can successfully integrate the realm of the supernatural into the Marvel Comicverse (which shouldn't be an issue with Joss Whedon and Kenneth Branagh at the helm). But we shall see!

Last Airbender movie fans - the movie hits the stores November 16.

Did anyone like it? It seemed like all the feedback I heard was negative. Of course, it was all people that had been fans of the Nickelodeon show (like me). I ended up not seeing it in theatres because of that, but I figure I'll rent it when it comes out.

The first t.v. spot for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows aired recently.

That was made of so much awesome I can't even begin to say anything. I need that movie. Now.

I have to admit I'm getting tired of all the 3D!

So am I. I hope Deathly Hallows is only in 3D in IMAX like Half-Blood Prince was.

Guardians of Ga'Hoole comes out on September 24th. It's based on a series of books (what movie isn't these days?) that I loved as a kid and I seriously can't wait for it. It's in 3D :( but the animation looks incredible from the trailers.

Secretariat comes out on October 8th.

I definitley want to see the Hobbit (especially since I am one;)). I love the Lord of the Rings series.

Three Musketeers might be good too. I like Orlando Bloom. He's kinda cute.:innocent:

I used to watch the Spider Man movies with my big brother. He loves them. He'll be so mad that Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst aren't in it anymore. Probably won't even watch it now.

Any talk of when Eclipse is coming out on DVD (should I put it on my Christmas list)? And what about Breaking Dawn?

Got a good line up here. I do have a question though that's some what relevant.. How long do movies usually stay in theaters?

That depends on how many ticket sells the movie gets. A movie like Avatar can be in theatres for months, or one that has a bad opening may only be in the theatres for a couple weeks.

But there is a time period between when the movie ends and when it comes out on video. Currently it's about three months but the movie industry is trying to get that reduced.

Eclipse comes out on Dec. 4th.
