Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11th. It was originally Armistice Day, comemerating the end of WWI, in which the treaty was signed at the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month. The Tomb of the Unknown soldier was also a comemeration of those unamed soldiers who died in WWI. President Eisenhower changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day. For a short time in the 70's, we observed Veterans Day in October. They were later combined and celebrated on November 11th.
