Well my barn owner had the Chiropractor out to work on her horse and when he was done he did up a wither tracing for her since we are going to Equine Affaire on Fri.
He also does saddle fitting......so he had just enough tilm to check mine out :( not wide enough and it's a wide.
So we are back to hunting, at least he gave me several brands that come in extra wide

What kind of saddle are you looking for? I had a lot of trouble finding a dressage saddle wide enough when I had Kara, my Arabian mare.....and I found that the County saddles came in extra wide and fit so great, and they are buttery-soft and so comfy....they can be kinda spendy tho, but I did find a few used County saddles that weren't too badly priced.

Not all wides are created equal. You might be able to find a Wide that's a perfect match! If you do a wither tracing, here's a good method to see if a saddle will fit from pictures.

Thanks guys - yeah I know not all wides are created equal - her weight keeps changing making it even harder.
I'm looking for a jumping saddle and will do a wither tracing for the next go round. It was cool to have him check her out and tell me depending on what type of flocking the saddle has (foam, wool) will make a difference as well - there was a hit that she may have grown some too, maybe I should say filled in.
OY so she now needs a 34 wool flocked saddle. On the plus side my BO has a 34 so I can ride in it one day.
I guess I shouldn't complain since the BO's 34 isn't wide enough for her boy
Sure rules out some I've been looking at - two brands that he recomeneded: Bates and Collegiate.

JetLagSide -- If you can afford a Bates, I would go with that over the Collegiate. I know the 34cm is the x-wide gullet plate. Duett's also make 34cm trees.

Cloedoll I agree with you - I'm hoping to get to sit in a few different models while at Equine Affaire just to see how they feel. The one we put on her yesterday is a 34 Duett but not anything traditional looking so that's out. I'll keep you all posted but it's going to be a little while since I really need to more the other 2 med tree ones first.

Ahh, that stinks...I can check around eBay and other used tack sites if you would like? Just need to know the style, seat size, color..=D
