Maple Syrup Anyone?

Will's grandmother recently moved, and when we went to visit her she went on and on about how she's been craving real maple syrup. Unfortunately, we live in Georgia - which means we have ample supplies of sorghum syrup, pecan syrup and either of these flavored like maple syrup... but very little maple syrup.

Now, I'm from the south - I've never had maple syrup in my whole life, so I really don't know what qualifies as good maple syrup - so I'd love some advice. ;) Does anyone know where I can get some great maple syrup online? We want to get her some for Christmas and, other than at Henry & David's, it just doesn't seem to exist down here. :rolleyes:

LOL. I love maple syrup but is sooooo sugary!! I have no clue where to find good maple syrup. We always buy ours when we go to Canada once a year for our fishing trips! Good luck finding it. I'm sure "Grandma" is going to love you!

Vermont is the state that is most well known for maple syrup. If you google Vermont maple syrup, you'll probably find lots of places that sell it online for the holidays.

PM me your snail mail address and I will send you some MAINE maple syrup. Once you have it, there is nothing better. Ask Granny if she likes it dark or light?

Also L.L. Bean's will have it (pricy though) and they also carry maple candy, and that is sooooooo darn good.

Here a friend of ours used to run a small maple syrup company/business/whatever lol. It was so good! The maple candies are the best. Walmart usually sells maple syrup, but not the good stuff.

Cracker Barrel sells maple syrup. Do you have a Cracker Barrel near you? If not you can order it online I'm pretty sure. The little bottles you get with your breakfast are maple syrup and its pretty good.

I didn't know that about Cracker Barrel shels... maybe that's why I don't like their syrup. I like the true-blue fake stuff that comes in the plastic bottle. :D
