Hello everyone!

Glad I figured out where everyone ran off to. ;) I am the same ol' SS from the old forum with the shire. I'm not around often but could be because of a busy busy life right now. I also am not a fan of the horse.com forum format and it was more of a hassle then needed. :)

Anyway...back to topic...

I worked on making Moon barding/jousting uniform. I've never made one and especially not one with 20+ yards of material needed. I rarely sew to begin with so it was interesting to do. Not perfect but it works great for my needs. I'm not 100% done but almost there, just a few border seams to do on the back and closing the middle and back pieces together better. I was so excited I had to throw it on him tonight for a quick picture....will get more and better ones later!

Also, the back half isn't fully adjusted right. He was squirming for dinner so it was the best I could do. Minor adjustments come later. :)

Great job on the outfit!! The colors look great on your shire and it really looks like a jousting blanket! You did a much better job then I would have, Muffin would have looked like a clown with a crazy crooked half missing blanket on him. lol :) Maybe we can hire you to make us some outfits for our horses :) You could turn it into a side job for costume contests and events. I'm sure you would charge a lot less then trying to buy one off some jousting site.

So, why did you make it? Are you planing on doing some jousting?

I have a ranch about an hour from me that does all kinds of medieval stuff and gets hired for movies. You can take jousting lessons and go to events at there ranch. They get all dressed up and have all the armor, cloths and there horses are all dressed up to fit the part. Next time I go up to see a friend that lives up there I'm going to stop by the ranch and check it out.
