After much deliberation I have finally narrowed down the name choices to two. The puppies are just shy of ten days old and getting so big. They'll be opening their eyes any day now, they have learned to wag their tails, and are starting to walk a little. So Chunky Monkey needs her grown-up name.:p Her nickname will always be Chunky Monkey (or just Monkey), but she needs a big girl name too.

The choices are:

*Mika (means "Intelligent Raccoon", lol. It also can mean "moon". It's a Native American name.)
*Jaycee (Native American name meaning "moon")

She is the chocolate one.

I can't believe they are that old already, seems like they were just born. I picked Jaycee just because it's different. I like Mika too though so I'm not much help.

I like Mika best but both are good! When I was looking to buy that mustang mare I considered naming her Jaycee! Both are good names!

Is the Mika name pronounced Meeka? If so, then I vote for that. We had a dog named Teeka. It's an eskimo name and we liked it. It has a good ring to it. Mika (if pronounced Meeka) would have the same good sound. If it's pronounced Micka, then I don't like that. Jaycee don't have a good ring to it IMO either.

I know it's late to add, but I also like Neka. It's an american indian name that means "wild goose". I think that would be a funny meaning for a name. :p Also, the name is similar to Mika, but with an obvious pronunciation. ;)

I chose Jaycee... Though you might be able to call her Jay Z.. Buahaha.

I agree though with SWMS. I also like the name Mika, if it's pronounced "Meeka." The other way just doesn't sound interesting. :)

My Aunt & Uncle's Mika was pronounced Meeka. She was such a great dog. Both names are good ones, the only problem I have with Mika is I think of their dog whenever I hear the name, I loved her so much and she's gone now.

Originally I thought Mika was pronounced "Mike-a". A kid in a tv show I watched had that name and that's how it was said. Then when I was looking up its meaning I saw that it could be said "Meeka". I like that too.
I don't like Micka. Like Mick with an "a" sound at the end. So definitely not that way.

I thought it was pronounced Meeka when I saw it, so I voted for it.

I like those names, and I really like Kaycee, but it's too close to Cassy, which is their mom's name. She is a Black Lab/Collie mix. The dad is a Golden Retriever. They do look like labs though.:)
