My head feels like I have been beating it against a wall. No, not an actual headache though, but rather, when I touch my forehead, it hurts just under the skin. You know how a bruise or extremely tight muscle hurts just under the skin if you touch it, but doesn't hurt when you are not touching it? Well this is what this feels like, except its across my whole forehead. But I haven't actually hit my head and there is no visible bruise.

Anyone ever experience anything like this? Its been like this almost all day.

My head feels like I have been beating it against a wall.

Stop doing that. :innocent: Head will feel better in a day or two.

Wish I could! LOL - someone at work suggested I might be taking my frustrations out at night. I don't know, I sorta wonder if it has to do with the TMJ that flared up a couple days ago.

What about sinus? Sometimes when I get a sinus headache, it actually hurts to touch because the pressure is so strong. But yet, it hurts when I don't touch it too...

It might be your sinuses. My head does funny things when we're going to have rain or snow or if I've gotten near something I'm allergic to. Some days it hurts so bad I can't brush my hair. Hope you're feeling better.

I was thinking sinuses too. Doesn't hurt to get it checked out tomorrow if you are still having it.

Oursarge, I sound like you. Weather changes get me all the time. Right now my ear is hurting and I'm thinking ear infection. Yuck.

Sinusitis can cause that....all you have to do is touch or press on your sinuses (above your eyebrows, and alongside your nose, etc.) and it can really be painful. You'd have to get on antibiotics to get rid of sinusitis.

I've had a bad headache for 2 days now....it's either the major weather change here (lots of rain and sleet here) or I have another sinus infection brewing.

But it doesn't hurt in the sinus area next to the nose? Could it still be sinusitis?

Yes, sinus headaches can hurt in many places that your sinus are. Your forehead, your eyes, the area below your eyes, your neck. Im sure there are more. Heck, Bobs teeth hurt when he gets a sinus attack or cold.
I would take some sinus meds, I bet you will feel better in no time.

My actual scalp hurts sometimes if my hair goes a certain direction that it's not used to. And it does it a lot. Of course my actual forehead has never done it but I don't suppose it would be unable too. Did you have your hair up too tight or something. Or are you still doing Nanowrimo? Maybe your brain is hurting. :p I'm kidding of course. I hope it stops hurting soon!

I definitely agee on the sinusitis. You have sinuses in your forehead, and your cheekbones, so you can actually have a face ache WITHOUT a headache, believe it or not. Or as Vicklynn said, a toothache.

Sinusitis is not always infection, but if you have the symptome for 5 days, or if they get very severe, it's time to see your doc.

Also, if you have yellow or green discharge from your nose, it's a good indication you have an infection, as is a fever.

I've had severe sinus problems every winter for years, and it's finally been discovered that my allergy meds were aggravating the problem by drying my sinuses out and making them inflamed.

Therefore, you need to be careful with taking sinus medication.

The two best things are steam therapy and and expectorant- NOT cough syrup, which can make things worse- just the expectorant. the ingredient is guaifenesin- also known as Mucinex or Robitussin.

Hope you feel better soon, Cat!

I have found the same thing with my scalp hurting if my hair is pulled to tight or if I brush it to go a different way than normal. Good to know I am not the only one who feels it. I thought I was crazy.

My aunt had sinus surgery and her Dr told her there can be pain all over your head including in the back from sinuses. You can get pain anywhere on your head from sinus issues.

We are supposed to have rain tomorrow. I have horrid pain in one eye, my forehead hurts [There are sinuses above and below your eyes] and I am lightheaded. I can not touch my head at all. Not anywhere on my head, it will probably hurt to lay down tonight. Since I developed my allergies I've had alot of head pain. Tylenol #3 is my friend, it's the only thing that helps at all and if things are real bad that doesn't even help.

I also had shingles on my head and face which also caused pain but that was major pain like almost couldn't stand it pain. I also had a big lump behind my ear then the spots popped out. That was a real thrill too and some of my head pain might be messed up nerve endings from the shingles.

I hope you will be feeling better. You could have an infection brewing. I'm pretty sure I don't since this is my normal rain/snow issues. My ears get blocked too. Oh the joy of it all!

There are frontal, ethmoidal, and maxillary sinuses....so yes it really can hurt all over.....mine usually starts out in the frontals -- my forehead area just above my eyebrows.... It can go on for days and weeks, and I usually end up going in to see my doctor. Once in a while I'll take a small dose of a decongestant and that sometimes helps....but best thing to do is have your doctor check it out.

UGHHHH!! I had shingles on my chest once!! There has never been a pain in my life to equal it!!! It just went on and on and on!!! I'd rather deliver babies!!! At least that eases for a few seconds!! I can't imagine it on my head!

I had to look up shingles. Ugh - that sounds nasty and I really hope that is not what it is. I do have some OTC sinus meds - I will try those for now. My sinuses have always been next to my nose and eye, never thought it could be it up there. I've had some light sniffles for about 2 weeks now, but nothing too bad.

I know the hair hurting thing. I used to get that all the time when my hair was down to my waist. However, my hair has been down and falling naturally and this isn't the same type of feel.

Maybe it is Nanowrimo and my brain revolting. LOL. Yesterday I had my highest word count of all month so far. Tonight I just can't focus so I seem to be losing my lead I got yesterday. Oh well.

Get well soon, Cat. I'd say it's sinuses.

I never had a baby but I know the shingle pain was the worst I've ever had! I couldn't even sleep, I was in tears it was such a terrible burning pain, I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I didn't have the Tylenol #3 [With Codeine]. I thought it was really really bad sinus issues at first then when the spots popped out I knew what it was.

Thankfully my pain stopped once the spots came out where in most cases the pain can last for a long time. My mother's shoulder pain lasted for weeks and she also has the nerve issues so she's still in pain 20 yrs later and I think I have some of that with my head since it really always does hurt to touch all the time and why it's so hard to go for a hair cut. My cousin had shingles on her head 3X's in one year and has alot of eye problems from the stuff getting in her eye. Just awful.

When I get that awful pain from the sinus stuff I sometimes take one Sudafed [2 will send me into orbit] and that will help. Also a Netti Pot will help drain things, when I remember I have a Netti Pot I will use that and it really does clear things out. Hope you're feeling better today.

Hope you're feeling better today. My head is still hurting, but the rain is really picking up here and sometimes that triggers a migraine for me.

I've had shingles too, it was awful......had it on my waist years ago. And recently I had it in my eyes, now that is some pain you never want to go thru, it was unbelievable, and it also made my vision blurry. I've gotten it in my eyes three times now, and had to go to a specialist.
