I just showed the picture to my husband, I think he wants a kitten now too. If our miserable vet bills weren't so high we'd think about it. A friend also has a Maine Coon that might need a home depending on their living situation. I love Maine Coons, we'd probably take that if we got another since she's such a great foster mother and the cats are so well ajusted. I love the idea of a little teeny kitten. I haven't had one since 1978. We adopted all of our others when they were older kittens or a 2 yr old stray and Bo was also 2 when we got her from the shelter.
Hugs to your baby.
SWMS - YES!
Oursarge - This was my first kitten. :) We'd always had older cats as well, and we hadn't had a cat in YEARS. I have to pay for the vet bill, food, etc though. I LOVE Maine Coons! I really want a Ragdoll though! :)
More recent pictures. :) (She was born April 11)

She is adorable! I love Rag Dolls too. I had a Norwegian Forest Cat for 10 yrs and she died unexpectedly right before her 11th birthday. Kidney failure, the vet thinks it was from the breeding. That was a heartbreak, I loved that little girl and we think the breeders knew there were issues because they stopped breeding. I will never forgive them for not getting in touch with us [We always exchanged Christmas cards and updates on her birthday. When I told them we lost her they never responded] to say there could be a potential problem and maybe we could have caught it. She showed no symptoms until the last day she wasn't jumping right. I thought she hurt her leg, the vet figured thyroid because she wasn't that old but she had no kidney function left so we had to put her down. She was my only purebred and I'll never get another since these people were supposed to be the best breeders from research I did.
Now we have a part Norwegian, Part Maine Coon and we have no clue what Bo is mixed with, she's over 15 lbs and is a big ball of fur with huge eyes! The Maine Coon I suspect is a mix too since he is a rescue. I love them all but am very allergic to short haired cats, long haired ones don't bother me. That is so strange. While I'm writing this my Jack is "helping" not sure why cats love computers?!!!
Hugs to your baby, she really is so cute!

That is a cutie.
That is strange (about the short hair vs long hair). I don't know what Ponyo is mixed with either. She's...just...domestic medium hair I guess? HAHA!
She was actually tested positive for FIV back when I first got her. Her final test is THURSDAY and that's also when she gets spayed. The people we got her from found out the mommy had FIV after little Ponyo was tested positive. They had no idea (the kittens were free) and they did the responsible thing and contacted everyone that got a kitten.
I do, however believe that she does NOT have FIV. She's healthy as anything and, although I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure she's OK. ETA - for those who don't know, many kittens display false positives on FIV tests if their parents were FIV carriers.
However, if she DOES have FIV, we are thinking about adopting another FIV cat from a local shelter. I work at a Petsmart and every Saturday we have cat/dog adoptions. One of the cat shelters has a female FIV cat that's about 2 or 3 and I feel so bad for her because they said she has to stay in a cage (POOR baby, even though she's FIV I don't see why they can't find her a foster home).
Aaaaanyway. :) I'll give you guys an update on her on Thursday. :)
Thanks everyone!
Just wanted to say...she just got retested...and...
SHE DOES NOT HAVE FIV!!!! :D :banana::happydance:
She's getting spayed now. Poor girlie. I'm so glad she doesn't have FIV though! :) Now she can play with the other kitties.

I'm happy for her and you. I always heard about the testing not being accurate sometimes in the kittens, glad she's OK.

What a cutie, she looks like a little stinker.... love the pic of her stinking out her tongue!
Glad she is OK and no FIV.... I bet you breathed a huge sigh of relief over that. :)
Vet just called. She's awake after her surgery and meowing everyone's ears off. HEHE! I pick her up in about 3 hours. :)
