Oh good lord! WB can we add a smiley beating their head against the wall?
When I went to copy/paste it I realized it wasn't the horse.forum but the horseforum.com  I only realized this because of my screen name there. I never go to that site at all. What a day I'm having!!!!!!!! Someone HELLLLLLPPPPPP!~!!!! lol Sorry for the confusion and excitement. I apparently just can't get it together today.
You can delete this post if you like WB!

Oops, I made the same mistake thinking it was horse.com. Never mind.
The horseforum.com folks are great. I wish them the best and enjoyed my time there very much.
I did. And as long as WB, WBoy, HF, Tiz, rocknK, Vick, and anyone else like them agrees with me on every issue, political and otherwise, I'll stay here. :) Just kidding. You can't get rid of me. Just try!
Dear JackieB,
If you haven't been to the Horse Forum lately, you may want to stop by and take a look around. There's more going on than ever before, and you will find that we have not wavered from our commitment to keeping it the friendliest place around.
We've added the Horses feature where you can create profiles for each of your horses, add photos, etc. There's also the carrot game where members can hunt for carrots hidden throughout the forum if they like - but be warned - there's fierce carrot competition from our reigning carrot champs, Spyder and Joshie. ;)
We've also gotten rid of the debate forum which, though interesting, proved too controversial in light of our world wide member base.
We are proud to announce that Equestrian Collections has recognized the quality of The Horse Forum community and has chosen us as a place to interface with horse lovers to better serve their needs. Of course they will also be offering Horse Forum members special deals from time to time.
Keep an eye out for other useful and fun additions in the near future.
As far as this email update is concerned, don't worry - we send them out once in a blue moon. Come to think of it, we've never sent one before and will only do so sparingly in the future.
If you haven't been able to activate your account yet or are otherwise unable to log in, stop by and use the Contact Us form. We'll be happy to help you out.
Have a great day and we hope to see you at The Horse Forum soon.
Sincerely,
The Horse Forum Team

Ah - Well that's different then! Not sure what to do with your post then menagerie :)
We could just leave it here and slap you with fish :trout:
JackieB - thanks for posting it. Sounds like they've added some stuff and are trying to rally some of their missing members to come check it out. So far, we haven't had to do that. :D

Just going there to check it out... They look like they've switched to vbulletin, which is the same as here...
And they certainly are bigger than we are. But jeepers, they have a lot of subcategories! Does anyone like that about it?

Agreed. This is simple! I hate complex things. I get tired of looking & don't look at all the subcats. Too much to look at.

Well, that's true. I mean... we have a group here where most know each other. That gives it a different feel than larger forums. While we'd like to be always attracting new members, we will probably not compete with any of the really big forums.
Anything at all anyone likes about their layout or features that you'd like to see here though?

I agree. Of course, I think we'd welcome anyone new with open arms and encourage that forumer to get just as involved as he/she sees fit. But I've come to really appreciate and value the smaller group of forum friends that I really know and am looking forward to staying in touch with for years.
Just from a logistical standpoint, it's pretty much impossible to keep up with all of the threads on even a modest-sized forum such as this one. And I wouldnt want anyone feeling left out.
It's not from the Horse.com Forum, it's from Horseforum.com.
Horse.com: forum.horse.com
Horse Forum: horseforum.com
Not that much of a difference. :D

Ya I liked the horseforum.com when the other went down, but I feel more at home here. The other one was VERY busy & I had a hard time keeping up! I mean, there are days I can't get on at all.

Actually horseforum.com has a pretty small group posting and it tends to move pretty slowly, although the new software may bring more folks in. I miss the old green background, though! HGS is the big, super busy one. And having all three including this one on vbulletin...too much the same! Thank goodness for the gorgeous cranberry color scheme here!

It is pretty isn't it? :)
The blue is the standard, but there's a lot of customization that can be done, if you have my hubby :D.

I personally like the coziness of our forum- we're more like family. I also like the way the categories are now- too many is too cluttered!
I made the mistake thinking that it was our original horse forum and got excited thinking they might have finally updated a few things, but alas, that was not the case.

Same here. When I got the message I went on both forums. I didn't really have time to look around horseforum.com, but I wanted to check and see if anything had changed on forum.horse.com, but nope still the same.
